The day of my discharge from the Marine’s in the summer of 1969 Norfolk VA, I began my drive home to Massachusetts in my 1964 Chevy Super Sport. When I turned on the radio Beautiful Morning was the first song I heard and after surviving Viet Nam it was a beautiful morning that day.

It’s been a month now and I still can’t get it out of my head! @@willsomervell8246 the parts he is singing don’t necessarily have anything to due with him loosing vocal range. I’ve been a working, live and studio, musician for more than 50 years, working with groups that focused heavily on vocal harmonies. The parts you heard him sing in this video may very well have been the parts he sang in the original recordings. The higher parts you heard were sometimes harmonies that were done by Eddie Brigatti and Gene Cornish. In well blended harmonies you can’t always tell who is singing which part. You hear a high note and assume it’s the singer who is singing the lead. Your brain tricks you into thinking that. And, at times, Eddie’s voice sounded very close to Felix’s.

Felix Cavaliere, has the best singing voice in the world. In 1968 my band and I won the "Battle of the Bands" we did "Lonely To Long & People Got To Be Free", I tried to immitate Felix Cavaliere the best I could. Oh I loved every note about him coming out of his mouth, even when he sang the word "can't", I immitated him exactly by singing "Kain't", instead of "can't", he was such a cool mo fo. He had the most perfect vibrato in his voice, so natural, so beautiful. "I been lonelay to Lah owng". Hell I love the Beatles, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, I love Smokey Robertson, I love Roy Orbison, and Love Elvis to death, but ain't nobody can sing like Felix Cavaliere, nobody, I never heard anybody come close to his voice, his style, playing that B3, I immitated him to the max with a B3, I sang every word like him, in reality I was no where near him, but in my brain I thought I had him down,..hahahaha Not long after that I was in Vietnam 3rd Marine Division, my girlfriend dumped, me so when I made it home it was all about singing "I Been Lonely To Long", so thank you Felix. I am now 73 years old and still trying to copy, and immitate that mo fo. Hahahahaha
