This procedure also applies to this HP OMEN 17-cm2004nm Laptop PC This PC specifically is sold without an operating system (Free DOS) To install Windows 11 there are some particular procedures to do. as well as pressing esc or then F9 to start the Boot Menu and select the USB stick.

Note: You will need an internet cable connected to the laptop to access the internet as FreeDOS doesn't come with preloaded drivers (including the Wi-Fi one you will need to download and install yourself). Edit: if you have a different laptop or a PC with FreeDOS, the procedure is still the same, you just need to enter the startup/boot menu with a different key combination, based on the laptop's brand or the motherboard's producer. You should be able to find it on a quick Google search.

@@filipmilic7198 You can install it, but after it's done to you need a cable to access the internet. You could avoid that by having the ethernet/wifi drivers downloaded to another usb drive before performing the install.

Press F10 instead of F9 to enter the BIOS, then System configuration > Boot option > Legacy support and enable it. After you enabled it, at the bottom there should be Legacy boot oder, I think with F5 and F6 you want to move up on the top of the list the USB drive. Save and exit and try again with the F9.

You need to have Windows 10 media creation tool installed on the said flash drive, otherwise just plugging an empty flash drive won't do anything.

Yes, you can download the free version from Microsoft, then move it on a USB stick, obviously on a friend pc, or somewhere else, and then you can always activate a key after the windows has been installed on your laptop.

After you install Windows you can install the drivers. But make sure you have an internet cable close by, because you won't have the wi-fi driver preinstalled, you'll need to install that too!
