They are just having intimate moments until it falls apart. it's too forced. it's only harmful. now that she's heard the song, she won't be the same. Ryn said the song she sang doesn't "heal," it "moves pain way." So guess what? when the pain comes back it will be times 10. That's why I was surprised to see that the song didn't put Ben's mother to sleep. It should have sang her to sleep so she could die peacefully. but hey, as long as they only kill the mermaid characters, but keep the main human characters it's ok right? She will be like maddie, and "need to take the edge off" Her pain is so bad it didnt even knock her out completely to sleep because she saw them in the room.

This is such a great episode. I am looking forward to all the new storylines put in motion in this episode. They need to bring Nicole's superior back once in a while to show that she is not in charge and to show that there is an inner battle on her loyalty to the military and her friendship with people in town.

Great? that's an overstatement Great isn't adding 6 mermaid characters, killing one, allowing humans to unrealistically survive a boat explosion and smoke inhalation form a slow motor boat rescue. There's no way they survived, but another mermaid dies. First donna, now sarge. who's next your favorite? that's not great, that's undoing writing to create hype during a summer hiatus. and what new storylines were put into place? there's only 2 and so far, you have only mentioned one of them. everyone else is talking about sex and babies. aside from the military story arc, which her superior will obviously come back since it shows a trailer of a squad of troops coming to abduct ryn but she sings the song to kill them all (or subdue them) the only other arc was when katrina and camden were eating fishies by the sunken airplane. Katrina heard a banging on the doors, and used her majestically carved narwhal tusk (it's a tusk not a horn) to open the door. Inside was an (older?) looking mermaid whom she seemed to know and respect. Not one freaking person has even MENTIONED THIS SCENE. or what MERMAID stories we could see coming. that's what im excited about but why bother? next week will be 38 minutes of human stuff, then 2-3 minutes underwater. whatever arcs they have planned clearly have no intention of utilizing the mermaids in the first half of season 2 and telling their stories, along with the new ones we find. they clearly, are now, only focusing on humans and turning ryn into an ariel clone. can't wait til ryn is finally done with all the human stuff and distances herself. hopefully then this show will actually be about mermaids and show underwater for more than 2 minutes.

That's not love. you don't ask someone you love to go be TORTURED just so that someone else that you love more will be cured. She's doing this out of gratitude and love for ben and maddie after the bond they created searching for donna. and this is the last time i will say this about nicole. She. is. Chill. AS. F. if not, she would have had ryn ambushed the first time. Instead, she agreed to her terms of no needles. She wants to legitimately help paraplegic people regrow skin tissue ONLY if it's in a safe, amicable, and respectable way for ryn. did you even watch her development? The people you need to be worried about is the security clearance above her. When they find out that nicole refuses attempting the capturing of ryn, they go THEMSELVES in a SQUAD to find her she sings the song and stops them. the comments on here truly blow my mind. 98% about sex and babies, 1% is nicole haters even though she's a respectable ally. Then there's me and rarely any others who are talking about helen's broken heart, the environment suffering because of oil, the mermaid katrina found in the airpline.

But given her lack of security clearance and her "spat" with the higher officer...asking him "what he plans" to do....and him saying "that's above your security clearance"....leads me to believe that Nicole is playing. huh? Ben and maddie broke up because of ryn, and stayed apart until the whales beached themselves. Prior to that they had a platonic family relationship and slept in a bed without sex. The only "Love" story that was arced EVER in this show as helen and sarge but they killed him off for no reason just to have more humans around. Ben Maddie and Ryn didn't get Sexual until the day after, the EXACT DAY, after maddie heard her song. there was NEVER any love arc between them, it was all physical and induced by the song. Just because you think old people and outcasts like helen don't deserve love, but think ben ryn and maddie are sexy young people DOESN'T MEAN there was ever a love arc written in the show. Ryn's dream isn't even about love or sex. it's fear. moron

that's a bit extreme. xander and calvin BOTH surviving a boat explosion, and not dying from smoke inhalation after a slow motor boat pulls up on them while killing 1 of 6 new mermaid characters isn't brilliant. It's awful. they would have been dead by the time ben and maddie got there, if not from the explosion, from smoke inhalation. even katrina survived being stabbed in the guts. It was like, hey, we know we gotta take a hiatus so lets give them a "suspenseful" break but undo the writing we just did so we can keep human characters for a cheaper budget instead of honoring our show title and making it about mermaids. The only good thing about this episode was the 2 underwater scenes. and those weren't even more than 3 minutes each. This whole show should be 2 minutes on land the rest in water not vice versa.

exactly. instead of "fast forward" 2 weeks, a second time this show did a fast forward, they should have actually show the mermaid characters that developed in the first part of the season. Show how they act underwater, their home. Then she could have gone back. What about camden? Ryn made a PROMISE to her that she will help her now, as donna helped ryn. However, she completely abandoned her responsibility to camden. because who cares about donna right? who cares about her daughter right? let's just not wait and respectfully show these characters with live, lets just rush her out and make everyone kiss. Get some porn views real fast and then slap a 2 minute underwater scene in there and call it a day!

You never would ask someone you love to HURT THEMSELVES just to help someone that you love more than them. ben called decker without maddie, and has been making decisions without anyone other than himself since shawn's funeral. it's his nature now, his prefrontal cortex is being devoured by the song. it wasn't weird. he didn't "switch." He realized that nicole can provide decker's research, then he can USE ryn to be EXPERIMENTED on and have her STEM CELLS extracted to use to TREAT his mother. he said, essentially, he doesn't care what happens to ryn, if it's painful, or if shes' afraid because it COULD (not will) help his mother. he says "To help my mother." HUGE SPACE then says "and to protect ryn." he's just using her to make his mother better because he tried that ever since he was a kid. i can't wait until ryn finally realizes how bad he's treating her and finally tells him she's done trusting him (in the trailer where beth's goon reveals ben's family massacred them because the song just like ben)

It is actually very good. At the begining they will be agressive because they are not mermaids, they are sirens but that doesnt last that long. If you start watching it wont take long for you to love all of the sirens, specially Ryn. I recomend it
