It begins a story meeting involving the writers and producers who choose the overall arc of that season. Then the casting director reaches out to the actor’s agent and they sign a contract. The director is solely responsible for guiding and shaping the episode or episodes.

Thank you so much to the writters for giving us this 🖤 can't believe this happend, i feel a relief, we needed this as a fandom, it makes me kinda sad that they may not end up together but the "goodbye kiss" was everything, the fosters was a special show and i love how they keep giving us little moments with all the family without missing out their storylines (for now). Maybe for the good trouble finale Jonnor can be endgame (not hate on Carter but they don't have chemistry at all, i prefer Noah in that case) Also, didn't thought Gavin wanted to return to the show, hope him and Hayden are in good terms

i did y watch good trouble bc i couldn’t get into it but i’m SHOOK they brought conner back up. that’s all i ever could have wanted...jonnor will forever be in my heart and my #1 jude ship but even if they start a friendship again i’m really glad they had more of closer bc in the fosters the end of their relationship was so sad and quick. i’m really glad they did this...and i’m hoping to see more of connor and jude romantic or platonic

Good Trouble is a spinoff of the Fosters. The majority of the Fosters moved to LA so the storyline picks up from the final episode of The Fosters when they all drove out/moved to LA. It made sense that Connor would make an appearance at some point in Good Trouble because he had already moved to LA in The Fosters and now Jude has moved to LA and they needed to have closure/a proper ending to their relationship, although hopefully they get back together.
