Any chance you were able to try a large? I'm 6'1 and usually a large for most manufacturers, but their sizing guide says the large tops out a 6 feet and XL down to 5'11. Were you an XL on your previous bikes? Thanks!

Really like what Cannondale did with this new Jekyll. If I had not gotten my new Wreckoning, I'd likely would have bought one. I like the spec, although I'd want a longer dropper and would likely replace the wheels with something better, but that is just personal preference.
@superawesomefuntimego2 жыл бұрын
@Kito Kai Wreckoning is pretty amazing. My buddy also has one of the new insurgents and LOVES it. I will say that the traction and handling that the Wreckoning offers, is fantastic and it is pretty playful for a coil suspended bike. Now, it is not as poppy, spirited and light feeling as my Canyon Spectral 29, but it instead offers better composure through the gnarly sections of trail and feels a little more stuck to the ground, but is still eager to jump and is well balanced in the air. It climbs very well, but mine with DD max grip tires, it is not what I would call a rocket and requires a little more effort up hills than a more trail focused bike.

Loyal Cannondale rider here currently on a 2015 Jekyll. I really like what they have done with this new design. Me being 5' 8'' 180 ish pounds would you say a medium is the correct fit? I really am set on purchasing this rig...
@PedalhoundsTV2 жыл бұрын
I have been riding both medium and large at the same height as yours, I found the large comfy when seated but way too long in the wheel base so I switched back to the medium but fitted a 45mm stem, it pedals and climbs great but remains very agile, I'd go medium. I have a video coming soon.

That would be hard to say. Certainly all the bikes I've ridding in this category are amazing plow machines on steep decent. This bike did have a special pivot around the hips feel that I've experienced on a few of the HP bikes.

I'm about the same size as the reviewer, currently on a different bike (new Patrol) but with the Fox 38 and Float X2. Curious what your testers settings are in the 38 in terms of pressure and tokens? He said he has the damper pretty much fully open at least on rebound?
@johnsospencer2 жыл бұрын
I didn't take note of the pressures. I do remember running the fork at my standard sag around 30% with no added tokens and I opted for a bit more sag in the rear on this bike (around 40%)
@hobmarg2 жыл бұрын
@@johnsospencer Cool, interesting data point and thanks for responding. You are definitely a much more skilled rider than myself on similar terrain (I live in Vancouver BC)... I run 20% on the 38 and 30% on the X2 (on a 2022 Patrol), always cool to hear what others are doing on similar gear and makes me want to experiment with more sag on the fork if nothing else just to see how it feels... I do use 90% of travel on the fork and shock on most rides at current settings.
@eugenux2 жыл бұрын
@@hobmarg I've set my 38 close to reco from Fox.. then I had to remove some PSI(some more psi, actually) and speed up the rebound. I still don't get it to go beyond 70% of travel even on bigger jumps or drops. Feels very stiff and the control is excellent but the suppleness of my Lyrik is not present.(but, maybe I'm doing something wrong and I don't know it)
@hobmarg2 жыл бұрын
@@eugenux Did you check lower for excessive grease that might be blocking the negative spring equalization port? I'm pretty close to Fox's recommended settings (but with faster rebound) and I can use 90%+ travel on an average ride with small/medium drops and jumps. If I bottom out harshly it's 100% travel.

I did not know the noise of that pulley was _that_ distinctive. Just listening to it creaking in that first uphill is just instant turn off to me because it sounds so restrictive and almost like you're trying to break a chain. Personally I could never have this as my only bike just because of that noise. I'm sure the bike is good at what it is intended for, I just personally would rather see it without that feature.

Beware: Read Cannondale’s fine print in their Limited Warranty Policy. They may use it against you for their best interest. My $5000.000 carbon fiber frame Jekyll broke after six years of use. Cannondale never made a finding that it was due to use or abuse. A hairline crack formed at a weak point in the frame. The bike was sold to me with a lifetime warranty on the frame. The best offer Cannondale gave me, under their lifetime warranty, was 20% off of retail - yes, that's right 20% off of retail. I fought them on it over a two month period and lost. So, I am now stuck with a 34lb paperweight. Cannondale has what I feel is the worse warranty in the bike business. If you do purchase a Cannondale bike and something goes wrong, know that they probably will not work with you at any level in your best interest. In my opinion, Cannondale does not value you as a customer, they only value your money. This has been my experience.
