5 years ago a week before my late sister passed I listened to this song. At the time I wasn't aware of how preemptive, let alone convinient it was to find something so beautiful to help me direct my emotions. Because of those days and this band I decided to become a musician. 4 years strong, i'm just sad it took a loss to develop the kind of relationship I have with music now

In my opinion, this song tells us not to be afraid of death. Don't mourn for the deceased, for he/she have lived a long (happy) life.

The brother of one of the band mates (Chuck Criss). He plays Blaine on Glee and is always telling people on his Twitter to go listen to Freelance Whales.

RIP Chuck. You were a great guy. Wish I'd hugged you harder the one time I got to meet you. Always will be grateful for your existence in this world. You and your band's music still makes it a little easier to live here.

I found this band when I was 13 (I'm 25 now) still one of my top bands. Ghosting was my first song I heard by them. Their music has gotten me through hard times

I used to listen to Freelance Whales every snowy morning going to university. So for me, Freelance Whales reminds me of light reflecting off of snow, mornings, a beautiful down town and an exciting, changing time in my life.

When I first heard this song i loved it. I never told anyone I knew about it cause I didn’t think they’d like it and find it too different and weird. It’s been 10 years and I still love it now I just don’t care. Beautiful song.
