Sounds so much like my story. Raised my 3 granddaughters (each one had a different dad). I took them in 21 years ago and they have grown into beautiful women. My oldest is getting married in September; she is an RN. My youngest is working full time and has her own apartment and is working on her masters. My middle girl is special needs and we support her as she goes on her way through life. OP is definitely the best auntie ever!

You are an amazing person and human being. My grandmother raised me and my two younger siblings. And the same thing we all came from different dads too lol. I am already much older and should already live on my own but since my younger siblings are still very young. I stayed and I am taking care of them too while also slowly taking over the house so my grandmother can finally take a break lol. She’s a hard working woman and I wanna do what’s best for her. But I have to say is you didn’t have to take care of them and the very fact that you did shows just how wonderful you are. Just as I appreciate all the things my grandmother has done for me. Op and her mom are TA, although Bailey is a disgusting and vile TA. Why? Well, they enabled behavior, and allowed Bailey to abandon her children. Then they continued to allow Bailey to drop in and out of the children's life. That is emotional abuse, I know because my dad did the same with me. They should have gone to child protective service and petitioned for guardianship. Then I would have completely cut her out, no returning home unless she was truly sober, and changed. I’ve known some foster kids and what their foster parents would treat them. OP reminds me of my sister, who took in all 5 of her grandchildren. My niece is so much like Bailey it's pitiful! However, my sis took her to court & got the child support reassigned to her. Sadly my niece came back home & lived off my sis, who forgave her & let her stay there. She worked all the time & eventually quit to take care of the twins & try to raise them right. About a year ago, my sis died from cancer & now my BIL takes care of the twins & their mother has more influence & I see how it's affecting my great-niece, who is exhibiting acting "hotsie" & wearing skimpy bikinis & my niece thinks there's nothing wrong with that! You'd think she'd want better for her daughter, but I guess not, since my niece thinks dancing nude isn't bad either. Breaks my heart! My sis & OP are heroes & I'm glad OP sued her successfully.

After mom's funeral, I'd have filed for legal custody of the kids, siting abandonment. I'd also have talked to at least the dad who WASN'T a cheating POS, in order to be on the same page (and might have found out about the child support). Next, I'd have sold the house, bought one somewhere else and never tell my sister. I'd then change all our numbers, block her everywhere, call it a day and take care of MY kids. I'd have prioritized not just their well bieng, but their mental and physical safely from their egg donor.
