Thank you for this video. We bought a 1953 home here back in 2020 and appreciate the history our area has. Truly a trip back in time.

I really did enjoy this and by putting this together in digital format, I think that is actually going to be longer lasting than even attempted physical preservation. When I think of myself, it wont be long after my death that all my things and stuff will be gone and eventually all returned to the earth, but much the things I create and store in digital will be around for a long time thereafter. As for the water pump thing, would guess more than likely no one thought about or cared when they had the job to remove it, probably it's in some landfill or was recycled.

It hurts to see places like this being allowed to rot away. That... is history. As important as any battlefield if not more. The cynical part of me wants to view this as an intentional thing being done to erase history (funny how the folk who wouldl ike this place erased are the same that shriek history and preservation about jim crow statues of confederate figures.) Thank you for the tour.

Thanks for taking the time to add your input. I agree 100% and I try to do my best to share this sort of stuff for the few out there that might want an account of this settlement in the future. Not that I am putting huge emphasis on sourcing the history and recording on a scholarly level (I do try my best) At least someone might be tipped off by this to do further research on it and learn more about it on their own 👍
