Learn all about ellipses for conic sections. We will discuss all the essential definitions such as center, foci, vertices, co-vertices, major axis and minor axis. We will also discuss the essential processes such as how to graph and writing the equation based on if it has a horizontal or vertical major axis

You're probably helping so many students during this quarantine period. My teacher won't help me and this video made me stop crying mid mental breakdown.

I don't get why center is called vertex? If vertex is the outmost point on the major axis, how center is matching that?

I made a couple videos on these. There are Eisenstein Triples, that are just like the Pythagorean Triples but work with cosine law instead of the distance function. There is a unit ellipse, just like the unit circle. The n-gons correspond to area rather than distance and angle. I'm just starting to learn about derivatives and integrals. I think I'll have another video on this soon. I do know the derivative or integral of sqrt(x^2+x+1) or sqrt(x^2-x+1) is part of the ellipse. Some of you may want to know that.

if x squared is divided by 2 and y squared is divided by 1, then the value of y squared (after being divided) will be bigger than that of x squared after being divided, since 2 is more to divide by than 1. So what is the logic in calculating for the major and minor axis? I didn't quite get this...

Sir, probably you made slight mistakes in your labelling, for the vertices pointing only on one point, it's just a vertex or you may call it vertices if this "label" points on two points. The one that you call vertex at the middle is actually the center of the ellipse, because when you say vertex, it's actually a turning point of a curve. These are the things what I initially observe because I was not able to finish the video. Hope you'll take it. God bless.

Correct. The center is the center. NOT a vertex. Also, he mistakenly called the ellipses parabolas instead.
