I have an Acedemic Decathlon math packet of algebra and trig. I'm doing it right now, also having to finish up a speech, science, art, and music packet so I'm hurrying. Just skippedy hoppedy past the 10 page introduction and explanations of new topics I haven't even done before and watch your videos for help. Extremely helpful and effect. Thanks you!

I don’t know why all math teachers don’t do this. Just record your sessions and post it and you have the possibility of getting even more money from KZbin views (which I assume many teachers would appreciate since they are payed shit money)

Why would we shift left for the functions?
@sea52055 жыл бұрын
Sujan Reviewsz its always the inverse when its affecting the x axis (ie inside the bracket) so instead of +1 being 1 to the right its to the left

@jihanhdr6 жыл бұрын
Did you mess up? Shouldn't it be (4,-4) and not (-4,-4)? Also, if you shifted it 1 unit to the left and got (0,0) then why is the asymptote x=-1 and not x=0?
@brianmclogan6 жыл бұрын
at 4:28 I explain the asymptote and yes I wrote the point wrong (4,-4) is correct

Sir is there any order you follow for transformation and reflection in all equations ? What comes first and what comes second ?
@brianmclogan6 жыл бұрын
order of operations, multiplication and division before addition and subtraction
@mohammedkhaled24566 жыл бұрын
Brian McLogan No no I mean in graphing , what comes first shifting or reflecting ?
@brianmclogan6 жыл бұрын
reflecting is multiplying by the function where shifting is adding/subtracting to the function so reflections first
@mohammedkhaled24566 жыл бұрын
Brian McLogan I got confused by this problem : y = 3 -log base 4 of ( 5-x ) because there are two reflections and two shifts
@brianmclogan6 жыл бұрын
that for sure is a messy problem, you will reflect both the x and y axis first then apply the horizontal transformation, make sure you rewrite (5-x) as (-(x+5)) to understand that it is a horizontal shift to the left, use desmos.com to verify your result
@shreekarki17715 жыл бұрын

Hi you have a lot of great videos, but I'm confused where to start. For example, I want to learn about graphing logs but there's a lot of videos that introduce it there are multiple aspects to it
@brianmclogan6 жыл бұрын
so right now my videos are just organized by topic not from beginner to advanced. I am working on creating courses that take you from start to finish. You can find all my current videos on logs searching searching "#logs mclogan"
@maryseitz55533 жыл бұрын
why. isn't. my. teacher. like. you.
@kaipang-whitsett23796 жыл бұрын
you messed up the reflection it should reflect over the y axis not the x
@brianmclogan6 жыл бұрын
no y-axis would be a negative inside of the logarithmic function
