0:21 Controllability airplane responds well to control inputs 0:35 Stability Correlates with controllability 0:44 CG is on front of center of lift 1:12 negative affects of an aft CG -harder to control -harder to recover from stall -elevators have less control authority 1:34 increasing speed and reducing angle of attack causes center of lift to move back(daft cg) -an increase in distance between cg and cl the airplane becomes more stable but when the plane slows down they became closer together and it causes the tail to have less down force 2:12 power changes Propeller slip stream- wind from the propeller moves across control surfaces -ever control surface needs relative wind

I love these videos; they’re short and sweet and I enjoy watching them so I can get a head start on real ground school which I’m starting soon

Thank you for these videos. :) I love how short and info packed they are, delivered in a way a newbie can understand. I’m taking notes to study before I start flight school.

I got my ticket in the 90's... but haven't flown anything other than models for the past 25 years. Been watching the vids as a refresher... and this vid is good info, and people dont' really get it. My large RC prop planes are so overpowered... I can do anything simply by mashing the throttle. (Slipstream gives full authority, and can climb vertical) My problem was, a few years back... I had an over powered jet, and I could yank it off the runway like a STOL bush plane. Wellllll.... my buddies egg'ed me on, and I held the brakes, and gave it full power. As soon as I started skidding the tires, I released, and pulled back. The jet was off the ground in 5 feet. Unfortunately, I fought a stalled wing, and in trying to recover... I smashed a turbine powered RC model. (about $4k worth destroyed) Obviously, no slip stream here. LOL. THanks for the refresher vids.

Thanks for this series! Just watching to see if i really want to do the PPL, so far so good! Which books would you recommend to complete your youtube playlist to learn more about flying a plane / PPL? Thanks!

You’re welcome! I recommend the airplane flying handbook and the pilots handbook of aeronautical knowledge. Both are totally free from the FAAs website
