As I remember, you should have about 7mm to 11mm adjustment, so if you want the neutral point to be at the middle of the adjustment you should calculate the difference in length between the stock caps and the preload adjusters and trim the plastic spacers as needed. Or if you simply want the preload adjuster to be the stock load when dialed all the way out, cut the spacer to suit. Couldn't tell if the adjusters you installed were the same length as the stock caps when retracted or not.

DEeMON yes, I didn’t cover that (I didn’t want the video to be too long!) the adjusters offer 10mm of adjustment. When it’s wound right out, the cap gives the same preload as stock.

I installed following Motone products. Union Jack Brake fluid cap. Long seat release and side cover screws. I installed a New Bonneville Ignition key cover with Union Jack on it ot prevent scratching of that area with keys. You should check it out.

Do you have a link for that ignition key cover?

Nice video! I do have a question. I noticed in the video that the adjustable nut will go in deeper than the stock nut. Doesn't this mean that the preload will be more by default? Isn't it better to cut the plastic spacer so that the middle of the adjustable nut is the same preload as the stock one?

Good Spot, But It only looks deeper. The section on the bottom of the adjuster fits inside the spacer tube, so when screwed in its the same depth.

Definitely sounds great. Seems to have lowered the high pitch of the triple cylinder engine, at least from the back. I've traded my cruiser in for the 800 XCA and love the bike but I'm having a hard time adjusting to the noise. Can you tell the difference from setting in the cockpit and running about 3k rpms on 60-70 mph? Doing that for a couple of hours start to hurt my ears and I'm hoping to get something that has a deeper/lower pitch/throatier sounds as opposed to the screaming/whining from the engine with stock can. Pls advise if you perceived a good difference from the cockpit thats worth the money!?

Not sure this comment is on the right video? Are you referring to the Lextek exhaust?

When you say the front of the bike will come up a bit, do you mean the ground clearance will also increase? My bike bottoms out with a heavy pillion and scrapes the speed bumps if am not careful. I have set my rear shocks to 3, and now they're rather jumpy when am riding solo. Want to now lift the front a bit, so that I get an additional 20 mm of ground clearance. What is the best way to do that?

Hi Arijit, when I mentioned the front coming up it will only be a matter of a few mm. The adjusters max out at about 10mm of adjustment in terms of preload, but it won’t directly give the same amount of ‘ground clearance’. There is a kit that can add 30mm of travel I believe? I’ll find a link and post it

Do you know a good product of yellow film I can buy from Amazon?

Good question, and quite timely as this weeks video is about tinting the headlamp! I ordered mine from eBay and it came from a car modification supplier... pretty much any self adhesive window tint film will work fine

Hi. Were you able to raise the front fork length with the preload adjuster? and by how much maximum? I plan on making my Street Twin a little taller and saw the TEC spring and preload adjuster kit and its advertised to be able to increase the fork height, they unfortunately didn't post a comparison pic on their website so i can't really tell. I know those are freespirit and not TEC but both are pre load adjusters so I wanted to get your thoughts. Also would their fork emulator give me extra length? Thanks. Website for reference: Fork Emulator: www.tecbikeparts.com/product/fork-emulators-and-adaptors-for-triumph-41mm-forks/ Preload Adjuster: www.tecbikeparts.com/product/fork-top-pre-load-adjusters-for-triumph-41mm-forks/

Pre-load adjusters will add some adjustment to the ride height, but only in the sense that they take out some of the sag. If you wind on some pre-load it will compress the spring and essentially lift the front. But you are only talking about a few mm, I think the range on these ones from memory was about 7mm? If you want to raise the front of the bike and retain the same riding characteristics you could drop the forks through the yokes a little bit. Or I think the money would be better spent by buying a set of cartridge inserts for the forks. It really depends on what you are trying to achieve?

@@mancavemoto Simply put I want to make my bike taller haha. I got the rear suspensions sorted but I'm trying to figure out the fron fork. I thought if I stiffen it more by adding the emulator and the adjuster (and maybe the spring if i feel like it) then I can increase the ride height. But I wanted to know if the preload adjuster was enough or would I need to get both the adjuster and emulator.
