One will only master skating if one invents their own sequence and then excutes it. What you have here is someone who has put time, patience and persistence into mastering what their mind has developed thus allowing them to execute it. Learning to skate starts by getting the basics down..after the basics have been mastered, the mind then starts to developed to do more.

Not all extreme skaters look like falling all the time, but the guy in this video does indeed. he makes some cool moves but he doesn't seem to be in control, because he probably thought himself how to do it. I strated extreme skating from inline skating where techniques are much more known (slalom), transferring all the knowledge to ice skating with almost the same technique made it much more easy and comprehensible. Extreme skating or freestyle can look much more beautiful, look for Nagyerdel Korisok as an exemple.

The foot work you where doing looks like the things you do on regular roller skates both inlines and quads, did you roller blade before learning how to ice skate cause I never see ice skaters do this type of freestyle. Amazing skill though!!!!

@@kupssauser4702 Well actually you do for ice skating. Otherwise how could you determine how skilled a person is in their particular field or sport. Before I started ice skating, I had no idea how good hockey players vs figure skaters vs "Freestylers" vs the general public were. Now I have a pretty good idea after 14 years of skating and editing ice skate videos. Someone who has done neither of these things wouldn't have a clue how each variation of ice skating differs from the next.

And if not, does that mean you're not physically or mentally capable of forming an OPINION on food? If an ice skater falls over spectacularly, anyone is entitled to thinking they aren't that amazing--not just people who have skated before. Stop acting so entitled and invalidating the fact that people are allowed to think a certain way without years of qualification. If you saw a video of someone slipping and falling and crashing into walls, I doubt you'd be out here criticizing people who express that they don't believe that person is a good skater. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. There's no criteria that sets figure skating apart from any other one.

I am ex rink guard at pyramid ice what i can see that is not skill the thing that he do dangerous to other people... even the sprint technique also wrong... If he want to learn how 2 freestyle skating pls learn from coach abby (abraham) he can backflip using ice hockey skate he also 1 of the coach in pyramid ice back then...

@@vnxnems9216 You don't crash into other people if you're aware of where you are. Freestyle isn't about backflips, primarily footwork, ice hockey technique isn't effective for freestyle so coaching isn't necessary. Majority of freestyles are all self taught. Though I'm not crazy good, I'm entirely self taught, and at our rink I'm probably one of the top freestylers. All about finding your own style and playing with it.

Right that - which is basically also the definition of freestyle. :p ============================================================================================================== A coach teaching people different moves and techniques would be just a coach teaching a specific style - >HIS< own style. Freestyling begins where your teachers and lectures did stop. The guy in the video was pretty much certain about his limits and all and played more than safe around those. "It looks like constantly falling" should make people realize... that maybe this is part of the act: Approaching the limit of falling over to overtake this state and to transform it back into a safety stance. Like acting uncontrolled while actually always being the one in control.

Freestyle is all about footwork, first 30 seconds or so are actual moves, mainly barrels mixed with grapevines. Definitely better people who show it far better on KZbin but he is still good nonetheless

Props to be able to use your feet quickly and such, but everything just looks very awkward. I don’t know whether it’s just because i figure skate so am used to seeing everything controlled as well as controlling everything myself, but it just looks like you’re flinging yourself around trying to stay on your feet. I think it’s the upper body movements, maybe work on trying to look a little more controlled and as though your whole body is working in unison because this looked like your feet were working and from your feet upwards was just trying to keep up with your feet and the direction. No hate intended at all, just wanted to share my opinion.

I do think that you’re talented, but you have to clean up your tricks. They don’t look neat, they look pretty rushed and messy (especially the „marine” If that’s what you like to call it, idk If it has another name, i only know this one from figure skating lessons). I suggest starting slower to clean the moves. And then from there you can slowly go faster. That’s just my thought though😊 really cool vid, have to say!

I’ve only ice skated once but, to be honest, what he’s doing looks hard to me. Compared to my first time on the ice (did it for fun), my ankles kept moving sideways and shit because it had one blade on it and was hard to balance. I know nothing about skating, but seeing him doing stuff like that without falling face first and body slamming onto the fence (???), controlling the direction he’s going without bumping into another person, it’s pretty amazing. Yes, the video has like clips of it, but it’s still pretty awesome nonetheless.

Free Style : going from one out-of-balanced position to the next and ... oh yes doing the same style as other free-stylers who are (apparently) free to do their own style, but for some bizarre reason choose not to. Nevertheless, this guy is actually quite good at skating. Everything half speed would look much better though.
