There is just something in this intro that goes deep. It talks to me even more when watching the music video. Something about, that era.. Something familiar even though I never saw it through the eyes of a teen or an adult. It makes me want to cry, but in the same time gives me a good peaceful feeling. There is the future, past and present. An atmospheric memory, that tries to surface from my dna to my conscious mind. Time stops when you listen this. Almost like you have just fell in love with someone, and never want to leave the bed, away from her.

Every time I listen to the intro of Freestyler, I get some strong parkour vibes! I imagine some athletes jumping buildings downtown, with the sun rising or setting and all of this in black/white filter and with dramatic slow motion enabled, starting right from the get go, from the buildings shots! 'That intro is not talked about enough' - and then I found this in the treasure trove that YT is ✌! That swampy country & western guitar with that synth lead melody runs on a different chord progression than the rest of the song (although that synth lead stays the same when the song kicks off!), two unlikely partners that create this deep, brilliant atmosphere. Could've been a proper drum n bass track on its own 😃!

Though, I think the build up of the intro is what makes it a masterpiece. So once the intro goes into a loop, the magic fades, leaving us in a dreamy state for the remaining 9 minutes.
