it was the better way of showing India's growth unlike other documentaries which only shoes development in metro cities.

Madhusudhan's success story should be taught to every Dalit especially in Bihar to convince them that govt jobs and quotas aren't the way to equality, but free-market entrepreneurship is!

There's still a long way to go. I wish we would get on with stripping the government control over every aspect other than the bare essentials. As shown in the movie, even when a single person succeeds in life, it has a cascading effect on the lives of the ones he/she touches. Thanks for the movie. It was truly inspirational.

Marten Dekker It's almost as if industrial capitalism breaks the old order of feudalism down in India or something. This pattern is repeated in every country which industrializes. Mechanization, better irrigation etc. means more food can be grown with less labor and so, the less productive farms go belly up and move to the cities where they find employment or start their own businesses. It's nothing to be feared. To the contrary, it's to be welcomed.

@Marten Dekker Agriculture is still subsidised in India where large Govt farm godowns waste tons of crops every year, farmers are not free from Indian Govt yet!

I completely sympathize with the street vendors but one has to also consider that they block sidewalks which are meant for people to walk. Its a genuine problem that because of street vendors normal people can't walk even for short distances. Forcing people to take transport and reducing physical activity which overall impacts health of people. There are plenty of areas where the street vendors by standing on sides of roads block the traffic leading to bottlenecks. What needs to be done is alot certain land for such kind of carts. I cant believe that the govt has legalised for street vendors to block sidewalks.

Good documentary, although the treatment of caste could have been a bit more nuanced.
