This is my favorite song of all time because of what it means to me. My moms died in 2008. She died in her sleep. She at my grandmother’s house. I got the call that she died. I hopped in the car and drove over there. The ambulance hadn’t come to pick up the body yet. So I saw her in the bed. I couldnt take it. So I got back in the car and drove around the neighborhood. My phone was on shuffle and this song came on!!! that chorus hit!!!!!!! “Baby don’t you cry. Everything’s gone be alright. I know we make it through this!! That had to be my mother speaking to me. Outta all of the songs that could have came on it was this one. A nigga had to pullover and cry. My favorite song of all time. Love you Sandra Merrimon

TBH, I enjoy the original much more, and I heard it AFTER Freeway's Alright, which on its own is a monster song. But this one is a fine complement. I actually play both together.
@TopBillinSports Жыл бұрын
@@TonyStarkCLC - I'm a huge Free fan, but the original is definitely better. Free wasn't really even on topic. Sounds like he had wrote to a whole different song. Free had more of a hood party vibe with this song even with the way he was doing his Free dance while rapping. The bridge is cut-off on this version, too, and Anthony laced that jawn! This is still pretty good because Free is that dude, just could've been a little bit better.

Thanks freeway! I was 16 when this shit dropped and it got me off my ass. Thanks man. Just know you helped inspire someone to change their life. I’m sitting here playing this because at 17 when I was at that boot camp for at youth risk, it was winter and snowing out and I snuck and listened to this song and said when I make it, I’ll play this. I'm not saying you have to be a thug to enjoy gangster music but you have to be from the hood and understand the struggle of ghetto life and poverty to really feel this song . I'm 30 years old married for 13 years with 2 kids struggling to make ends meet living in a run down 2 bedroom apartment with all kinds of issues . Been dealing with depression since I was a kid and it followed me into my adult years and effected my whole life . Because of stress and depression it lead to me and my wife getting into a domestic violence situation last year where now we have to visit our kids at grandma which thank God she's got them instead of the system. Me and my wife went to jail, lost my car , apartment is all messed up from domestic violence, can't hold down a job due to all of the craziness in my life and I'm at the bus stop listening to this on my way to drug test and counseling. This song really hits hard when you in the struggle gives me the chills everytime!
