Freeway Poultry - Ear to the Ground

It was a great opportunity to have Darragh McCullagh down here with us a few weeks ago to take a look at what we do everyday and how it all started.
A lot of you won't know my story and how it all began. I started this business 7 years ago when I was just 12 years of age. We only had 20 hens on our farm and now we are Ireland's largest backyard poultry supplier.
It's been an incredible journey. I would have never thought starting out that the business would have grown so fast. I often struggled to keep up with the business as I was still going to school and trying to handle almost 100 orders a day.
As a result of growing so fast sometimes the customer service lacked a little but I knew that if I constantly focused on raising the best hens that I possibly could and supplying quality products that the rest would eventually sort itself out.
This is a chance for everyone to see where our hens are raised and how well they are looked after.
Unlike many of the other suppliers of backyard poultry in Ireland we raise all of our own hens from day old chicks, we don't buy in birds from anyone else. This has been one of the most fundamental factors of our success.
