Haida seems best for me. Thanks 🙏 I never knew this brand before!

HAIDA seems the sharpest and more close to true color in my opinion.

Great video. Tiffen and Haida are the two I like. In your opinion, which one is better overall? Yes I’m a newbie and I’m confused which one should I get.
@Scriptshepherd8 ай бұрын
Haida has better colors - Tiffen has a green tint to it. That said, Tiffen is still sharp, much cheaper and its green tint is easily fixable in post if your camera shoots in LOG or with 10-bit color. If you have the budget, I'd go with Haida. If you need more affordable, Tiffen will still provide great results.

@@Scriptshepherd thanks . The Tiffen is actually more expensive than the Haida 2 +1 CPL & VND filter. That’s the one I was thinking about getting but I’m unsure.

Very helpful! Which F-stop were you using on the ND filters for the controlled lighting and then the natural lighting shots? Assuming these are variable ND's? Thx

i use Tiffen vnd, and have to say that it's not enough for my gh5+oly12-40 setup at sunny day at f2.8 and 1/50 shutter. Colors are not matter, because i use datacolor colorchecker.

So it seems to be the Haida has the least colour shift in the test. Though the only VND in the group seems to be the Tiffen, the other two products are just magnetic systems with several fixed NDs..? I wonder if the quality is is the same for Haida's CPL+VND system too or Freewell's 'Versatile Magnetic VND' as those are true VNDs

All the filters tested are Variable NDs - and I agree, the Haida has the least color shift

Hey, I find the Haida magnetic variable ND filter to be the best for sharpness and colors.

Hi, thanks to share this interesting video. I need to ask a question please: I shoot only 4K videos in V-Log with my GH6 and Leica 12-60mm. Which solid ND filter (3 stops) can you suggest in outdoor please? Thanks

This will be your best solid ND for that lens: amzn.to/3yIkYet

hi, i have a question to variable nd filters! Is it possible to stack other filters on top of it? I got a diffusion filter that i really love using but since i use it with a step down adapter ring, i was wondering if i would still be able to use it with one of these variable nd filters! Thank you so much in advance!
@Scriptshepherd Жыл бұрын
Hey, thanks for the question. If your diffusion filter has threading on it, you should be able to screw an ND filter of the same diameter on top of it. For example, I have a 77mm Tiffen Diffusion filter on my lens, and I screw the 77mm Haida magnetic filters on top of it. A stepping ring shouldn't make a difference, since it would be beneath the diffusion filter - though you may risk vignetting on wider lenses.
@the_dreamers_production Жыл бұрын
@@Scriptshepherd thank you for the quick reply! I’m quite new to filters so I’m still a little unsure 😅I got a 62 mm lense and my diffusion filter is 58 - so I have a adapter ring from 58 to 62. Does this work with a 62mm variable nd filter? Since the filter is smaller underneath? Or can you stack it on top of it? I would need to get a 58 mm nd filter then, right?
@Scriptshepherd Жыл бұрын
@@the_dreamers_production Your step-down ring adapter will cause vignetting from your 58mm diffusion filter on your 62mm lens, since it has a smaller diameter. You're putting a smaller circle on top of a bigger circle. Generally you should get diffusion and ND filters the size of your largest diameter lens (usually 77mm or 82mm), and then use step-UP rings for screwing them on smaller diameter lenses. If you are stuck with your 58mm diffusion filter, I'd recommend getting a larger ND Filter with a step-up ring, to avoid further vignetting. But if you can, I'd really recommend investing in a new diffusion filter that's the diameter of your lens or larger. Let me know if that makes sense.

@@Scriptshepherd Thank you!! I’ll see what I’ll do, I don’t have the money right now to invest in two new filters, but I’ll figure something out! Thank you for the detailed reply!!

hello I have a fuji 33mm lens. Is Frewell compatible with this?
@Scriptshepherd Жыл бұрын
Hey, it should be compatible - make sure you get the right filter size for your lens' diameter. If you have the Fuji 33mm f/1.4, I believe the filter thread size is 58mm
