Man props to everyone that can fly edfs and not lose them. I want to make that jump so bad but terrified of losing it or losing orientation and smashing it into the deck.

I did it today. :) And by did it, I mean crashed it while trying to adjust the elevator. lol I was just flying way too low for a first flight though. I will get it next time.

They aren’t that bad, the hardest part when learning is they are much faster…so everything happens faster. Tbh if you started on something like a viper jet 70 or a bae hawk 80, they are fantastic beginner friendly airframes. I own the f16 80, f-22 90, f-15 90 and the f-35 70, fighter jets are much more difficult to land than a prop plane especially if they don’t have flaps. This is NOT a first edf, the viper 70 should be your first, it’s fast, forgiving, has flaps and is a fun little airplane and known to be the best beginner jet out there. As far as orienation, it’s the same as any other plane, just remember where you left it, and don’t let your brain tell you otherwise.

Hey there. Got the same plane. Same receiver. Have you experimented with combo a function? I had bad luck with my 1st maiden but I’m sure it was a CG issue. I’m curious if I should just switch to combo c I’m a intermediate pilot with numerous planes but This is my first edf. Not sure if I should try taking off again with the gyro on in combo a and if you tried to. Thanks
@MerryBoozerRC5 жыл бұрын
I use combo c gyro on gyro off. I actually don’t use the gyro on this plane vary often. Be carful not to get it tail heavy this one is vary unforgiving if you do.

Merry Boozer RC hahahah yup any f22 are amazing jets the fw is really nice I only own the 64 mm but I put a high kv 3s setup great jet easy to fly f35 is almost similar but quicker. F22 is more stable aerobatic and can do extreme slow flyng cobras stalls etc
@victorrcjets76605 жыл бұрын
Great video Wesley and Lori, same since you're correct on the consensus about the CG being better just a little bit further aft. I really did want one but if the way little bit longer. I'm surprised how much elevator trim was required for just being slightly nose-heavy. This bird is definitely a little bit more CG sensitive. But definitely everyone should use a gyro to help smooth out the small jet.
@daviddavids28845 жыл бұрын
some info. seems to be a good iteration of this model, by motionrc. like most other edf jet manufactures, motionrc has been SLOW to Understand the Following. an edf is Not an engine. an edf Requires More intake Area, than most scale intakes provide. (minimum efficient unimpeded intake Area and optimal exit Area are the Same. subtract the Area of the 'cone', from the Area of the fan/impeller. ) cheers googletranslate

@@MerryBoozerRC before you turn the gyro on i was watching what the plane and pilot are capable of. After you turn it on, I'm watching a gyro review. Once you learn to fly, for a modern sport model the gyro is not needed unless you want to fly in wind beyond the planes envelope. After learning to keep a plane in the air, the gyro becomes training wheels that most people think they can't fly without. I see it time and time again at the field. Pilots become convinced that they can't fly a plane that doesn't have a SAFE receiver in it.
@MerryBoozerRC5 жыл бұрын
The gyro in this airplane isn’t a safe receiver it doesn’t self level the plane. All this one does is help smooth out the airplane. I see a lot of people that think all gyros are self leveling. All it’s doing is keeping wing rock down nothing else. I can easily fly it without a gyro but the experience is better with one. My question is have you ever tried one. A gyro that is?
@shelbyseelbach95685 жыл бұрын
@@MerryBoozerRC yes, it's how i started flying. All gyros correct the planes attitude that is how it takes the wing rock out. Not all gyros are SAFE.
