Guys we have been looking forward to flying this jet since it was announced. The Freewing T-33 Shooting Star has been a jet we have wanted for years (well since Boozer and Papa started flying again), and we just couldn't wait to get our hand on it. This jet would be a great first jet for those of you moving form tricycle gear war birds into the EDF world. It has working retraces, flaps, and fly phenomenal. Check out the link below to get one for yourself.
We hope you enjoy this video.

Nice maiden flight, really good vid! The flight time was actually 4:47 minutes instead of the 3:47 you mentioned at the end, and still 3.86V in the cells that's a really effficient inrunner. And 'hey film me!!!' that was a nice Petrinic Brothers joke :-) Can't wait to fly mine. Greetings from Belgium!

Wow, we used to view foamies as expendable, cheap crap. Now it seems to be the main material for BNF & RTF RC planes. And why not, when the overall product turns out as good as this? This T-33 is a very desirable little peach! In fact every foamy reviewed here (prop or jet) is desirable, I want them all! But of course I can't. At least, thanks to channels like this, I can enjoy the latest offerings for free! These newer EDFs even have an (almost) real jet sound to them too, unlike the earlier ones, which sounded like a dog whistle, blown by an astmatic, with an electric motor sound thrown in! Or someone attempting to whistle with a lisp!! Also, good on you for using raw skill to fly, instead of cheating with gyro stabilisation. Gyro stabilisation is like cars with driver aids such as traction control, stability control, & advanced braking systems. All of which are totally unnecessary if you can actually drive properly. Not only that, but it will instill bad habits into the layperson. Gyros are only really needed in planes with a sub 500mm wingspan, as well as helis & multis. With that said however, some small helis seem to have too much tail hold in the integrated, non-adjustable PCB gyro, making the amount of rudder input needed, out of proportion with roll & pitch inputs. This makes smooth flight almost impossible, especially with the cheap shit "Txs" that they come with, which have stick "gimbals" straight from a gaming controller! Anyway, enough bitchin' & back to the topic! Sweet plane, great flying, with an equally great landing Wes! Jolly good show all round. 😉👍👏

Hey Wes, awesome review and video dude! Always love all the videos that the Boozers share! Quick question, I’m looking to get into EDFs and just wandering from your experience / opinion, which is a better first EDF, the T33 or L39 from Motion RC? Thanks man!

yup my main gear came out just as the nose gear came out. But my nose strut didn't always want to come out, and every time I played with the gear doors the nose wheel would come out... so will have to look at that more

I was mad at Freewing for not making this plane when they came out with the L-39, but dog gone it, I can’t help but like the L-39 better as in terms of flying. This plane can float though, I feel like this one is faster than the L-39. I have a 636 with AS3X in it and it’s locked in.

Is there a way for the main gear doors to retract back up when the gear is down?
@johnsons74thsquadron74
@johnsons74thsquadron74 3 жыл бұрын
There is a way, but it would be a hassle. You will need two servos and a gear door sequencer, plus linkages and rods and y harnesses, which would take long time to execute installing. Be mindful too that not all sequencers close your gear doors after the gear is down, and the weight of the servos could affect flying and your CG.

Even if not related to this video, wish to know at your airfield (of each one reading this) how is ruled a collision between planes (not engaged in a combat or a formation flight in which the risk of collision is possible) or plane/heli . When i was beginner and flying the Apprentice I was downed by a P51 coming from my six and i discovered that in such situation each one had to take his damages without any money refunds. Please let me know what rules are applied at your local club so that some rules could be applied at my airfield too. All replies are welcomed, Thank you!!
@MerryBoozerRC
@MerryBoozerRC 4 жыл бұрын
Yep part of the hobby accidents happen and when they do you shake hand and don’t fight about it. No money is ever expected to be paid to someone over a crash at any club I’ve ever been to. You fly at your own risk.
@dragonsknights
@dragonsknights 4 жыл бұрын
@@MerryBoozerRC thank you for your reply. At my airfield they told me the same, even if the other pilot offered 50% of the damage he did. I was no allowed to fly during the exam to get the licence with the repaired wing and had to buy a new one. I was so afraid to fall down during my first flights but never expected to be downed :))
