I'm really happy to see TKOR kinda returning to those old style videos Grant used to make. It feels like you guys are making an effort to kinda keep that legacy alive, and I think it's appreciated.

Stopping time was one of the first TKOR videos I ever watched, but it was Grant smashing an alarm clock in slow motion. This is would have had his approval for a replacement.

Holy shit the difference between KZbins choice of 720p and 4k is insane with this effect.

I made one of these weeks after the original video was released. Managed to get it running at >30 fps, rock solid drop stability... each drop was identical to the previous so the drops didn't have any jitter between "frames". The trick is to use a tiny diaphragm pump, they pump out the same drop size at the same force with each cycle.

Good effort for making new content and not reacting to Grants videos. I feel like Jarom is pretty talented in his own right so let him shine. This is a step in the right direction for sure. Respect Grant by continuing his channel, not milking the videos he already made. Whoever is making the calls behind the scenes, let this man do his thing and make stuff.

Neat project and a great demonstration that not everything needs to be 3D printed. Often it's perfectly fine to just take chunks and glue them together.

Cover bottom reservoir with black plastic with drain slits. Less light reflected would be easier to focus on drip. Good Job 👍

You could have used ONE resistor and then split off to all of the LED's instead of using many resistors, and used way less power.
@AllLoudNation365
@AllLoudNation365 4 ай бұрын
But that one resistor has to limit current to all LEDs. So I'd rather put less strain on them but using multiple.

Obviously it's changed in many ways, and considering that the channel is slowly reaching the end of its life cycle, it's not going to be around much longer. Be glad it's still around rather than complaining it's changed.

This is closer to what Grant would do. He would have explained what was going on, why we saw what we did though. That's all that is really missing in my opinion. Youre doing good, dude.

FYI I have found that black hot glue sticks tend to be a bit more flexible than the clear and stick much better to plastic, even when cold it is less likely to pop off

I’m not sure since I can’t try it, but wouldn’t it be easier to fine tune the freeze if you would strobe faster? Like, instead of trying to get the strobe to blink once exactly in synch with the drop, make it blink to a factor (like 10-20 times) of the droprate? I’d think this way it would be easier, and even if it would stray, it wouldn’t stray as fast since the delta wouldn’t be was impactful as when you try to make it blink exactly as fast as the drop rate.

Exposed power supply with a badly sealed tank of water above, and a tray of water below. Not a good idea, use a USB style supply seperate to the project.

Here's the problem. TKOR is trying to play the algorithm, and that isn't the right approach. All your hosts have been fine. Grant, of course, is the true king. Nate and Calli have such a natural rapport and combined skill set and ambitious personalities that they, to me, embody a big part of TKOR. (And they continue to have, with many collabs on Nate's KZbin channel.) Grace was fun and I think she got a lot of undeserved discredit. She had good ideas and there seemed to be little support to produce them. Now this Grant v2 is going back to the old version. Here's my suggestion. Let go. Let Grant pass. He was awesome, we all agree, but we can;t include him in future business decisions. Damn we miss him. But he's gone now. This channel can still live. I say get this guy a pal who's the same and different. How, it doesn't matter. Get some interplay. Make it feel less scripted and more spontaneous. Play up the safety, play down the steps. In all three of the "eras" of TKOR (Grant et al, Nate and Calli et al, Grace) I can identify a lot of good episodes. Make stuff like that. new, fun, inventive, safe yet cavalier.
