The modern freezers and coolers usually requires an ambient temperature of at least around 12C degrees. The compressor cannot work below that temperature and your frozen foods will thaw and get ruined. Unless you have found some special type of freezer you will have to move it to a heated room.

This one can work fine till - 15. I've asked a neighbour about it and he's never had an issue with having his freezer stand in an unheated room.

@@Toms_Sweden I hope you are right :) Its a terrible waste if if you get all your meat and other food ruined.

@@erikjaving I specifically checked. The energy rating is based on ambient temperature of 10 degrees and higher although it works till - 15. However the energy consumption might go up drastically, changing its energy rating. I'll still keep a close eye on it during the coming winter though as I also had my doubts at first.
