Thew nikon z 6ii was really great to shoot with and easy to use. I felt some similarities with the Sony A7iii which i use ton a daily.

After using both Nikon Z6ii and the Z7ii for two weeks i did see some differences however these were very minor and specific to me. i will be talking in a video soon about this.

what lens did you use and what are your thought on the nikon d3500??

I own D3500 for a year. If you will grow fast enough you possibly will miss: automated exposure bracketing (if you like to go fo HDR), mirror lockup (for macro photography); cable release or wireless remote (no infrared or cable port present; on tripod you can use timer for workaround, but not so convenient if object move on random time; you can't connect intervalometer to it); images are very nosy after ISO 800; it has only Bluetooth connectivity, so Nikon's Snap Bridge won't allow you to download RAW files to your mobile and no Live view support; low count of focusing points; no weather sealing (depends on your location, if it's more rainy and snowy on yours, maybe think about it... but those cameras cost a fortune). And it's already discontinued. Beside that it's kinda OK camera. I would strongly recommend save some more and buy something a bit better or wait for Nikon new announcements this year. Maybe they will announce new entry level with Z mount (F mount lens are not getting cheaper yet, but you want to invest into old technology?). Meanwhile you could sharpen your composition skills using mobile ;-)

I think with the same lenses on I.e 24-70 f2.8 or f4 there just isn’t a lot of difference. The difference for me is the memory cards. The Nikon z6ii takes 1x XQD and 1x SD card the XQD cards can be very expensive. The Sony takes 2x sd cards. I really do love the Sony to use. I’d say the autofocus in video mode is slightly more responsive as well, but given the price difference between the two I would again look more towards the Sony being that it’s cheaper (older) but the money saved can go towards more lenses. Hope this helps. It’s also personal choice. I will say as a last note. The Sony has never in 3 years let me down.

@@Opticalwander why wouldn't you want to use the best sensor available and it saves huge costs developing your own. I don't see it as a bad thing, I'm sure the way the image is processed is still too Nikons colour preferences. I believe Sony supply sensors to a surprising amount of companies.

​@@Opticalwander The sensor is designed by Nikon and its manufactured by Sony. This has been going on for years actually. Even my D7100 from 9 years ago has a Sony sensor in it. Over in Japan all the camera companies are in one group financially. I forget the name of it but it starts with a k. So it makes sense that they all help each other and that's been going on since the day of time over there. I think the online article is on dpreview website. Pretty cool stuff

In my place doing some street photography is hard, because when i'm holding my camera almost everyone will look at me. Unlike the U.S. or U.K if someone is holding a camera they really doesn't care, i think. So it's very challenging doing street photography in my place. But i still had some bangers Btw i really like you're street photography Especially those sony a7iii and nikon z6ii.
