My little sister was hopping trains for a few years up and down the East Coast. Its been about 10 years but she had a lot of good stories from those days. I would hop a train into town and back in the early 90’s. Nothing like my sisters adventures but I did that a lot.

@@gravedigga314 nah, no need to retire, I'd miss your train videos so much. This isnt the great depression anymore. we have just as much as a right to the rails as they do. With all the resources available for homeless travelers and people without jobs, no one really has a life or death excuse to be riding anymore, including all these ftra people. So in the end, they have just as good as a reason as we do to hop trains lol. We all do it for our own reasons, even if its just recreationally. Cant wait till your next video : )

Agreed. just joking about retirement. 😄🍻. I work, earn money, pay my bills, and earn free time to enjoy my life before age restricts me. My motivation is personal enjoyment 1st and youtube views 2nd. My salary doesn't cover all my adventure expenses though. Like your logic too. Only criminals hop freight trains out of necessity. Programs exist for bums who wont work to earn a living. Hobo code clearly encourages a work ethic. Really enjoy your videos too. when is the next one? ✌🏼

What would the punishment be if one got caught riding the train?

it varies depending on many factors but a warning is common if you are only trespassing. I got caught on UP in LA watch my video kzbin.info/www/bejne/jJ6ZpYBsosimpa8

Anybody have any feedback on where or how I would learn how to track it from Toledo Ohio to Florida? Is there a book or a online site I can look at for directions?

Call BNSF or CSX and they'll tell you where it's headed.

@dapper_gent I appreciate the feedback but I don't think that'd be a good idea! I'd assume that who ever I talk to would let the right people know that a random person called asking for track layouts/directions and then that would probably cause the railroad cops to be even more vigilant for train jumpers!

I don’t know if I could tolerate laying on a moving steel monster for hours with just a thin pad underneath! Glad you can though because the views you’ve shared here are worth it. Only question I have about riding is what do you do when you get to any destination? What’s the appeal of a place versus the one you just left? Stobe would wander around and say “nothing going on here.” Most places in the USA are about the same. I guess it’s just the journey itself, the logistical challenges and serendipitous experiences along the way? Maybe I just answered my own question. Nice work and keep yourself alive and well out there!
