these are not only 5 locomotives.....in terms of hauling capacity diesel locos are excellent and perform far better than electeic locos.......not its really sad to see that multi G4 with consist G7 banking got stalled, the most competent candidate got failed in the exam

It is not question of 5 locomotives, depends on what momentum train has got at that time. train could not achieve required momentum before steep gradient.

it's not about what powers the train since both electric and diesel electric locomotives have electric traction motors, it's all about the relation between power, gear ratio and weight that gives the locomotive either a higher tractive effort or a higher top speed. those electric locos have a tractive effort of about 38 tons while the diesels have 55 tons of tractive effort. and there are external factors like the gradient and the momentum the train had while going uphill, if you don't have enough momentum you'll stall wether you have electric, steam or diesel locomotives pulling the train

Some times speed restriction cause stall as train can not achieve momentum. Every train has different weight on axles and different locos generating HP to pull.... Bhor ghat actually works on very little margin. We need to modernise ground system as well as loading of train considering turn outs also. Centrifugal force at turns, are also to be considered. Weather is to be taken in account. Damp rails, reduce whole capacity.

Goods freight is very heavy freight then 5locomotives power insufficient then they will coupled another two engines then freight will moving easily

I have seen such incidence in braganza ghat section on rout to goa. Additional locomotives are sent for Kulem to jackup the power on steep ghat section to castlerock.

Good capture, but missed the wheel spin and the stalling of engine. Also the retry of the freight.

There must be some mechanical or Administrative reason Stalling at a notable place is unbelievable place as for myself is concerned having more than 40 years of experience in Railway matters

It must have affected other traffic as well. I was traveling in Sinhagad express on 21st Aug and it was halted at khandala for 45 min. Since freight stalled before Lonavala.

In ghat section, divide heavy goods trains in two, haul each up and then rejoin both half for onward journey, it's simple
