I don't think it is about engines (16s with ge132 have the same thrust as that baby) it is rather about general aerodynamic design and flight control system

0.97/0.98 Mach on the speed pass always, so very close to the boom but it's only an impression, I've seen this demo and others may be 40 times and it always sound like this...

Rafale outperforms every other multirole platform in terms of avionics except F35... F35 has a superior avionic but struggle to fly... 12 F35 lost since 2018 ...among them one that crashes at the factory and another one on its first flight out of factory.
