i'm right with you. my mum is exactly the same when we have family or guests over...but i learned to either ignore it or to try and calm her down by taking things in my own hand so that she can sit down and relax. so mostly i'll end up as the butler but i'm ok with that since then there will be much more peace in the house and mostly i hate it more to have to sit down with people i don't really know and answer their boring questions about what i do and how i am and blablabla... :D

daggettooo i'm so sorry for you. I was the opposite i was trying to make my mother panic even more as i found it hilarious .I was waiting for the boring questions and try to give the worst possible answers. As a teen if i was asked about my girlfriend by nosy guest i would just answer "mum didn't tell you i was gay" Nothing is funnier than awkward silences at dinner parties !
