The polycotton version is perfectly sound (zips may leak a bit?) without any treatment. The nylon ones are well known for leaking....

The original F1 came/comes with an extra fly sheet which is 100% waterproof....Yours has a top seam and your tent is more for dry nights or summer weather...For winter or rain you have the additional fly sheet with no seams at all....The fly sheet fits over your tent sold as a F2 .....You can use the fly sheet on its own if your tucked up in a Bivi Bag.....I bought one complete years ago and fabsiled both parts to be on the safe side and both work spot on...When its complete it with the fly sheet nothing but nothing will get through 2 layers....I think your tent has seen better days before you bought it and you spent a lot of money trying to get it right...The only thing I dont like with mine is if the side vents or part of the side vents are not open then the inside gets covered in condensation and it drips on your sleeping bag...And the vents being low down isnt much fun when its minus 6-10 deg outside because it gets you cold as well...It is a brilliant stealth tent though...PS the polycotton one like mine is far better than a nylon one..........Happy Hunting.........

The F1 is a canvas inner with a nylon flysheet, a two piece tent.

The floor on mine is pretty heavy duty and I haven't had any leak through. I did spray it down with a good silicon water proofing agent and it has been flawless on my trips for the cheap price.

I think it would work fine without using Fabsil for the whole tent. I think its enough to seal the seams with wax and using a Groundsheet. My f2 tent is absolut waterproof with this package.

What is the cost of the wax and waterproofing? Thinking it might be cheaper to get an oversized tarp and extra tent poles.

The cost of the wax and waterproofing wasn't that much. A tarp is definitely an option but I was hoping to get it waterproof to avoid adding extra weight to the tent. Anyway the conclusion is IMO buy a better tent from start, I'm not gonna use the French one anymore 🙃. Thank you for watching and taking you time to leave a comment 🙂 👍🏻 Best Lars

As said before yours is missing it's flysheet, therefore it's not waterproof

Thank you 😊👍🏻 taste of Music is subjective I guess 😜 I like quite a variety of genres from bluegrass, Hillbilly, rock n roll, punk rock, heavy metal to black metal… music is an important part of life to me… but computer generated pop and auto tuned vocals I do hate 🤮😂! True talent is important and so is the ability to write lyrics… I even like some rap music as long it comes from the heart 🤘🏻👍🏻

@@zufuss As far as I know, the F1 should be made from canvas and the F2 is nylon. Both are great but I personally prefer canvas because its darker in the mornings and the condensation is less.
