Great video! DNA can be very intimidating and confusing to those that are new to breeding that want to start off on right path, You channel is great! Can you guys do a video on how to read genetics test after they are received - I think a lot of viewers would get value from it.

Thanks!!! We tried to hint at that idea in our latest video that we will do some on interpreting DNA. I think it’s about 4 videos away. I’ve seen breeders that don’t understand this get taken advantage of by shady people. It’s an important topic to get familiar with.

Hi, Love your videos and the DNA Calculator! Something went wrong on the calculator though. I input male as AT/AT and female as AY/AY and under the pattern projections it included trindle and included tan points for the colors my dogs can produce. Thought you might want to update your program to correct that or at least specify that the pattern projections would be genotype only for those in ay/at pups. I am just worried that someone who doesn't understand the the possibilities of tan points without a dog being at/at or at/a might be disappointed to get no tan points in their litter. All my pups should be AY/AT so, only carriers of tan points. Also, thank you for all your videos. You have helped give me the knowledge to pick out some great pups!

Are their any tools out to where you can put DNA inside from Male and Female and it creates what the litter would produce? Also, is there anything where you can create PINK in Frenchies. I'm seeing PINK frenchies now. What DNA creates them.

Can a lilac Merle with 2 copies of brindle bred to a lilac and tan with no copies of brindle create brindle puppies ?
@BluFrenchibles
@BluFrenchibles 3 жыл бұрын
Yes. Only one copy of brindle is required, so they will all be brindled. Merles should only ever have one copy, assuming that is true only 50% would be Merle,

Depends on the K locus. You would end up with all fawn dogs, lilac fawns if bred to a lilac dog in the absence of brindle. Any dog that has a copy of Kbr black would be a brindled and the fawn gene would not show. I would look for a lilac (or lilac platinum) that carries at least one copy of brindle (unless you want to produce a fawn litter).

@@BluFrenchibles yeah I am new to this and I need videos like yours that are very specific but as for me I'm a slow learner and sometimes I just can't grasp what you're saying in my case it would be like explaining it to a 12 year old and I'm going to guess that majority of people are probably the same I saw your first video though it was absolutely a great video and I think your name is going to become a staple in Frenchie's or people that are starting with Frenchies as a matter of fact on my Instagram I'm going to start putting your videos so they could get educated on the colors that way they know why they're paying what they're paying for thank you very much for all you do

No such thing as a rare colour ..it's just ripping people off. No such thing it's just a way to charge more and sell a puppy that will have issues down the line and don't get me started on Fluffy!
@Pkramm
@Pkramm 3 жыл бұрын
Colours are not rare anymore, however finding a non-standard colour that is of quality is rare... same goes for Fluffy's, which are growing on me. I think a lot of owner... and breeders forget that these are canines, they get sick, health issues occur and no breeder can produce dog that wont have health issues.. At the end all breeder are trying to strengthen their line and produce quality puppies. Breeders will sell their puppies based on what there time, knowledge, skill is worth to them... and yeah in some cases colours will play a role in that. I don't think there is one breeder out there that breeds for no capital gain - and thats just reality.

Sometimes brindle is minor and barely noticeable. I would pair that dog with a lilac or lilac platinum. Since it carries one copy of cocoa, you could get a 50% lilac and 50% blue litter. With a cream dog you would not have any visible cream pups.

@Matthew Hernandez I think any dog that has two copies of dilute to produce blue would be a good choice (blue,lilac,platinum, etc). If you like the look of pied, then look for another pied carrier or visible pied.
