First, each phrase is repeated twice at a normal pace without being shown on screen, so you can try to guess the meaning, then the subtitles appear on screen and the phrases are repeated a third time.

Having just found your excellent channel and note that you do wonderfully well in replying to queries. Here's hoping you can help. I believe bulle is the French word for bubble and when I go to find out how to pronounce the word sometimes it is pronounced with a soft e at the end but most times not. It appears to me that a soft e at the end is often used when speaking French, however perhaps it a is a local thing? For instance the guy who used the soft e ending says he is using Parisian French pronunciation. Maybe you'd like to comment on this soft e matter e.g. perhaps it's a local dialect thing? Cheers

Bonjour, thank you for your message. Indeed, the word “bulle” means bubble in English. For this word, the letter “e” [ə] is generally not pronounced, the pronunciation is [byl]. But you are right, the pronunciation can be slightly different from region to region and from speaker to speaker, as we have more than 20 different accents and dialects. For example, in my region, we have the Alsatian, a dialect which sounds like Upper German. So, my parents who speak this dialect (I only understand it, but can’t speak it fluently), have an accent when speaking in French, and can pronounce some words differently compare to someone from Paris. For the silent “e” being pronounced in some words, according to what I found, it can be the case in the south of France, particularly in the Midi region because of their accent. So “bulle” [byl] can sometimes be pronounced [bylə]. But in standard French pronunciation, the letter "e" in "bulle" is generally not pronounced.
