hahahaha! you forgot to bring the "pangkuskos" with you when you visited France again. It could have been a perfect Halo-halo if you have it. I haven't tried using a powerful blender for tube ice grinding. But i saw on You tube how they prepare a Papaya smoothie in Thailand with ground tube ice using a powerful blender.

HeyoLeah, Halo-halo doesn’t mean: hello- hello. It means mix-mix. Because it’s a mixture of seasonal fruits, jelly, shaved or crushed ice, milk, and ice cream.

Japanese immigrants to the Philippines first introduced the concept of shaved ice snacks (kakigori) to the Filipinos in the 1920s. It's not correct to imply that the dessert was invented by the FIlipinos. You can probably say that chicken adobo is the Filipino version of coq au vin.
