There have been instances in recent years where a vote of no confidence was a significant political threat in the UK, potentially leading to a snap election: 1. 2019 Boris Johnson's Government: Boris Johnson faced threats of a no-confidence vote in the lead-up to Brexit deadlines. However, no such vote occurred because opposition parties, including Labour, chose not to pursue one immediately, fearing it would result in a general election on Johnson's terms. Instead, Johnson called for a snap election in December 2019, which the opposition eventually supported after the Brexit deal was delayed. 2. Theresa May's Government: In January 2019, Theresa May survived a no-confidence vote after her Brexit deal suffered a historic defeat in Parliament. The vote, initiated by Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, was lost by 325 votes to 306. While May remained in office, her position weakened, and she resigned later that year, leading to Johnson becoming Prime Minister. These scenarios reflect how votes of no confidence and the threat of snap elections have shaped UK politics recently, especially during the tumultuous Brexit era.

It works exactly the same. Barnier got ousted because he has no parliamentary majority (in fact no party/coalition has a majority, the assembly in divided into 3 blocks with no-one having the abitily to have a majority). It can happen in the UK, imagine if 1/3 of the Parliament is Labour, 1/3 Tories and 1/3 Reform, with no-one being mature enough to compromise. Any government would not last very long.

im sorry does the collapse of the EU mean that you also would like to not be a NATO member? Every country has problems within their government but the timing especially with whats happening in Syria Korea and Ukraine leaves everyone vulnerable to communist possible aggression .....if that is what he people truly wish for ,,, then im happy for the change . I see Russia and others as seeing the collapse as a way to openly use this as a foothold to under mind world views . Plus it could stifle funding to help assist Ukraine. Am i wrong ? If i am then please overlook my opinon
@cun7us
@cun7us 5 күн бұрын
@@johnshaw3228 The EU and NATO are two completely different entities. Even though they're both headquartered in Brussels for geographic reasons, NATO is primarily headed and coordinated by the U.S. because they provide the most funding and military aid. For example, the lethal aid provided to Ukraine by NATO countries was given the "ok" for them to use by the U.S. I am fully behind NATO as an organisation providing they have our best interests at heart, which means protecting us from all hostile nations. I am against the EU however, as I don't believe they have the people's best interest at heart and only interested in their political agenda.

People aren't happy with the way their countries are being run and a lot of it is because of EU policies, whether it's to do with immigration, economics or rules for business. More and more Eurosceptic MEPs are being voted in to parliament which says a lot.

The proposed 2025 budgets for South Korea and France must be bad for the people hence both budgets are stuck in its respective parliaments. French PM & SK President had to use unconstitutional methods to pass the budget which caused their downfall.

The fall of the government leaves France without a clear path toward reducing its budgetary deficit. +6% of GDP and rising when the EU only allows 3%. No election possible until late 2025. Who's saving the French economy now? 😮 Michel Barnier proposed a national budget which included 40 billion euros (US$43,477,800,000) in budget cuts. However, with tension and pushback from both the left and right. But forced cuts without consultation don't work either.

Some people thought Barnier was a very good negotiator because of the way he handled Brexit. In fact, with Brexit, the EU was in a strong position compared to the UK, so it was simple. Here, he was in a weak position, supported only by a minority in parliament, which changes everything!
