Always use a French press but never in such a structured way. Will give your tips a go. Thankyou

These tips will help be reduce steeping time, 4 minutes allowed the coffee to cool off too much. Another tip I read is to pre-heat the french press with hot water before starting the process.

Your videos are so awesome with humor. (ie) Moka coffee pot one. You are very descriptive and i have learned a few things I didn't know about coffee with French press & Moka pot. Being a coffee snob and very precise when making coffee couldn't understand why it would taste different bitter. NOW I know. Thank you. Praying you are feeling better. I sympathize with chronic pain and mental health. From a neck and rotator cuff injury.

Usually people suggest coarse grind, but I say finer grinds with less infusion time can work good. The problem then is the filtration, with finer grind size the filtration will be slower and require more paper (if you use paper)

What is the difference between your method and just pour it over a v60 above the glass? Have you tried it befor

With the V60 you will get better filtration because it will filter better. The filtration will be very slow at the end though. Also, with this method, V60 is not required.

I love your videos, you're my coffee brewing teacher! Finally such a great video about how to make the best frenchpress cofffee, as I love that method! An idea for another video: I recently bought a new hand grinder that has metal burrs. The coffee that comes out of it tastes like metal. How do you treat a completely new metal hand grinder to get that taste away as soon as possible?

@@matteofromtheswamps Thank you for your answer! Today I made FANTASTIC Frenchpress coffee with your recipe (with paper filter)! About the grinder, I solved the problem by burrying the metal parts for a few days in a plastic box of coffee. The grinder is called Chestnut, but it's not by Timemore, so highly likely a fake because there is no brand written on it. But it works well.

Hello sir my moka pot is not brewing correctly it's sputring so much constant flow is not coming when I remove from heat thinking its to hot it stops what am I doing wrong or it's broke somehow its only 3 months old pot it used to brew perfectly what went wrong now I have no idea and last to last time it didn't brew at all i can hear water boiling this time I cleaned it and tighten the led then it brews but without constant flow plz help anyone?

My moka pot method: 1) Begin by preheating your stovetop. I set mine to a few ticks above medium, but this is really dependent on your stove and will require experimenting. 2) Medium fine grind beans. Just fill the basket with beans to know how much to grind. 3) Fill the basket with grinds. I recommend using a WDT tool or something to break up any clumps. Don't tamp the basket, but give it a few taps to settle the grinds. I usually do that a couple times while filling. There may still be a dome of grinds when you're done. Some people level them, others, myself included, will just screw the top down to give them a soft tamping. 4) Optional but recommended, fill the moka pot chamber with pre boiled water. It will shorten brew time and reduce "cooking" of the coffee beans in the basket. 5) Place your basket of grinds into the chamber and screw the top on. If you used pre boiled water, be careful as the chamber will be quite hot. 6) Place the moka pot onto the preheated stovetop and allow to brew. 7) Once coffee starts pouring from the spout, I usually let it go until the bottom of the chamber is completely covered in coffee and then remove from heat. The residual heat should be enough to finish the brew. If not, you can put it back on the burner until it does, but keep an eye on it. Personally, I find that waiting until it starts shooting foam from the spout results in a bad cup. If I had to guess, you might have your burner heat too high. You also might be grinding too fine or tamping the grinds too tightly. A moka pot is not an espresso machine, it can't build the pressure needed to get water through grinds that are too tightly compacted. James Hoffman has a moka pot method video that you might try. Personally I think it's too much work for too little benefit and ultimately takes away from the ease and simplicity a moka pot should provide.

@@TheSatisfiedPig I do follow all the steps and it's a Starbuck pre grinded coffee and the heat is super low i think something went wrong with pot cuz it used to brew fine a month ago so just I don't know what went wrong this is I'm asking and gaskit looks fine to me but idk what is wrong

@@ripulful Check under the reservoir. I was cleaning mine today & I found that the bottom of the reservoir can pick up grounds from the basket and you'll be pushing water through grounds that are god knows how old. Also, I have a small Mokka pot and am starting to conclude that such a small water volume makes it much harder to control variables.

Never suggest to pre heat moka pot to someone that has sputtering problem. It will make it worse. The coffee is probably ground too fine. Probably that Starbucks coffee is ground for espresso. If you place espresso grind coffee in a moka will create too much resistence and that is actually what will happen. You need Moka pot ground coffee
