Hi from Croatia, small economic report from Croatia. In Croatia, almost 90% of the population lives in their own home, among the highest levels of ownership in Europe! 50% of homes are bought in cash, because Croatians save their money in real estate. The country's foreign debt is approx. 60% of GDP better than many other Western countries. Annual savings rate since 1995 to now on average 18% annually. This would not have been impressive if we forgot that the country was in 2 world wars, 45 years of communism oppression and terror 1945-1991 and the last occupation war of Croatia in 1991-95 without having received war compensation. Today, Croatia is a Western democracy totally integrated into the EU, Euro and Schengen and NATO allied with the USA!

I live in Denmark - One of the worst economies in Europe. Only around 60% live in owner-occupied housing and 90% of these homes are owned by the bank. Denmark has one of the highest tax burdens in the world Households are among the most indebted in the world. The same applies to companies and not least the state. Denmark's pension system stinks and the Danes are some of the poorest in Europe, perhaps with the exception of Moldova: Be glad that Croatia is not a bottomless pit about Denmark

@@larskaminskidkWe have the same (or even worse) housing situation, but we have a somewhat lesser income tax burden and a reasonable good pension system. Our national debt is just under the EU demand of 60% and the budget deficit is about 2%. Our state pension starts at 67 years and 3 months and is rising every two years, according to rising life expectancy. You can retire early, but only if you have a backup in savings or second tier profession sector pension. In good times a government should have a budget surplus instead of a budget deficit, in order to save for worse times. France and many other EU countries aren’t doing this, and France is the worst. Their public spending is ridiculous and is disturbing a fair competition in the EU.

I warned about this several years ago. France is living a fake lifestyle, with early retirement, expensive pensions, government subsidies and an expensive global empire like New Caledonia. As I warned France could only afford this lifestyle by borrowing on the world markets and only when the bond rates were low. Now they are not low and France is in deeper trouble than it admits. The next few years ago going to be very painful.

while high public debt is a concern, it doesn't automatically label France as the "sick man of Europe." A comprehensive analysis of its economic conditions and policies is essential for a more accurate assessment.

News 3-12-24. EU Commission downplays the economic problems in France and also other parts of the EU. When a country has the euro, the country must follow the rules of the game that applies in the euro economy areas. France budget is among the budgets approved in the autumn package för 2024. That still doesn't prevent it from being a serious cloud of worry for the economy. The far-right in the National Assembly (RN) disapproves of the austerity measures that Prime Minister Michel Barnier wants to implement and threatens to bring down the entire government in time for Christmas. Finance Minister Bruno Retailleau warns of an acute financial crisis i France!! Hes says " We have to respect the rules of the eurozone, because otherwise, when one country doesn't, everything can explode, "the prime minister said at an event in Paris on Friday, according to the Politico Europe news site.

The only thing that the Russo-Ukraine war caused is a energy crisis, which is now slowly healing. Sending weapons and financial aid to Ukraine is not a lot in comparison to the EU countries there GDP. And a independent and part of EU and NATO Ukraine will bring a lot to the EU countries.

Good thing that Russian military didn't get exposed in this war. 😂 With their very low soldier casualties and almost no military equipment lost and their super fast progress and their OWN Russian territory being protected in a fantastic fashion. 😂😂😂😂 Russia literally losing it's territory to Ukraine while Moscow regularly getting attacked by the military drones, lol.
