Tim turns a French Rolling Pin out of Olive Wood for his wife. To do so he uses (and shows off) his new toy, the newly redesigned Robust Steady Rest.

Made mine from cherry blanks that were 24" in length. (On sale somewhere, don't remember.) Made about 15 of them maybe 8 years ago for a Christmas bazaar and sold out within the first 3 hours. Have not been able to get decent blanks since but people "still" ask. Great job, Tim.

I got an OK spindoctor steady rest. Used it one time, called Brent and got another banjo. Those big steady rests are heavy beasts.

Nice piece of work. I caught the length of the parallel centre portion but I didn't notice what the overall length of the rolling pin is. Can you clarify, or is it not too critical?

One of my favorite woods to turn! Problem is finding blanks larger than pen blanks. Any clue who may carry larger olive wood blanks? I might have. To follow you and trade my Stubby in for the American Beauty…
