When I was a kid I thought I liked BOAF. Having seen it recently, it was rubbish. The characters weren’t likeable, Tracy was utterly miserable about everything and Sharon, whilst mildly amusing occasionally had no redeeming features. The series was saved by Lesley Joseph’s Dorian, whilst also a mean spirited character, was intentionally played like a Panto’s Wicked Stepmother. I really don’t know how it went on as long as it did - we all know Pauline Quirke could act but the other one was diabolical even in this, don’t think she ever got any other jobs other than to talk nonsense on Loose Women and she doesn’t even do much of that - doesn’t seem to be very much between the ears.
