Do you have a source for the small padded sanding disks? I have sanding disks that I can put on my drill or rotary tool, but they either have no give or with a swivel head can move a bit to achieve a better contact with the wood. A sponge padded sanding disk looks like a much more gentle and even way to sand.

Yes! Go to woodturnerswonders.com They have kits and starter packages, multiple types of sanding discs at reasonable prices. I’m not affiliated but I like their sanding stuff.

I’m interested in turning these. What are the dimensions of your blank story stick?

I start out with a 2” by 2” by 19” blank. Set the ends to 1 3/16” diameter. I come in 6” from each end on my story board. I have another video about making this if you want to check out the vid with explanation. 😀
