Celibataire, that is an unusual way of putting it to say, "my daughter's father left us", I have been single since. It can imply her husband left or her boyfriend either way father of her child. But I love your French teaching technique, plus having you for my teacher makes it all the more fun and enjoyable to learn.

Sorry you feel there's something wrong with being gay. I don't. It's a part of life, and thus a part of any language. I'm certainly not going to exclude vocabulary which is very relevant to a significant part of the population for fear of offending a minority of heterosexuals who think their way of life is the only valid way of being.
