Years ago there was an elderly lady in the Wallingford district of Seattle who was a master of French reweaving. She worked using a microscope perched by the large north window of her small shop. She was in that location for decades. I took a cashmere sweater to her that needed a hole mended. The sweater came back good as new - couldn't find the spot that was repaired. She passed away years ago and is sorely missed.

Thank you for making this sweet video. My great grandma specialized in French invisible mending. Grateful you carry this tradition on.

Wow! I just found this video after having a suit jacket with moth holes repaired by Amazing Garment Repair. They did such an amazing job that I am blown away. Literally invisible repair on a patterned weave. I think that they are magicians of some sort!

Saw a similar process called an invisible repair. The process looks like it as done in Japan with needle and strangely tied thread. You couldn't see the hole or weave patter variation after!

20 years ago, i used to go to a small shop in downtown St Louis to fix my suits and coats all the time. They were extremely professional. It was very expensive but worth every penny. Unfortunately I cannot find them any more. Now I have to take my clothes to Shanghai, China to fix, but there are only a couple of them can do it now. They are very very good too and also inexpensive. Unfortunately they are getting there too. I am afraid that this art is going to lose.

Prince Ren that is sad that it is becoming a lost art! If we share this video to more people maybe it will inspire people to continue this beautiful art!

Eric Stelzer thank you! I surely will! In the past, every time I walked into a rewearing shop, the name was ABC in St Louis, I felt sad. Those ladies devoted their lives to perfecting this art and received no appreciation
