What can I use to fill gaps in the floorboards before painting and can I use the trim paint range for floorboards, thank you

Did you paint yourself inside the room on the second coat?? Because first time you were painting up into the corner so you could open the door and the second time you're painting from the corner down past the door 😮🤔

Ok great, No no primer is required, but do dilute your first coat a fraction, the thiner the paint is it will then penetrate into the bare wood better, and you can always apply a couple of coats of clear Finishing coat from Frenchic for extra protection
