Thank you for the video. The expressions part was quite clear. But the pronunciation bit wasn't. It went too fast and it would have helped you had English translation below it. Font made it hard for us to read the words ...

Salut Virginie, je parcoure un peu tes vidéos donc je me permets de commenter. Concernant le " Y a quelqu'un?", j'aurais plutôt traduit cela, sachant que c'est une question, par " Y a-t-il quelqu'un?". Cela afin d'insister sur la forme interrogative et, également, de ne pas influencer nos amis anglophones à parler de manière "familière". Bien que nous soyons perfectionnistes, je pense quand même qu'il faille avoir une base correcte en grammaire ;) n'est-ce pas?^^.J'adore tes vidéos et désolé pour ces commentaires qui peuvent un peu ambitieux. Continue comme ça! :)

C'est intéressant que tu me dises ça parce que la raison pour laquelle j'ai décidé de faire cette vidéo au départ était précisément ce "Y a quelqu'un?" Je dis souvent à mes étudiants de regarder des films français avec des sous-titres français, sauf que des fois ça ne correspond pas... Ils lisaient Y a-t-il quelqu'un? mais en fait la personne disait Y a quelqu'un? Cette vidéo était justement pour les drôles d'expressions comme ça qui empêchent une parfaite compréhension.

Effectivement, je comprends tout à fait qu'il faille les encourager à regarder avec les sous-titres, c'est le meilleur moyen je pense. Même si le corps enseignant est très compétent, pour apprendre il faut, à mon sens, se servir de son sens de la curiosité pour mieux appréhender le langage. (J'ai fait cela pour avoir une meilleure maîtrise de la langue de Shakespeare ;) ). En tout cas, je le redis, très bonne pédagogie, même si je n'en suis pas un.

Thomas LENOIR bonjour, je me permet juste de vous dire que je suis mi d'accord avec vous, mi pas d'accord... parce que personnellement les anglais qui apprennent le français en classe (ou autre) ils apprennent (à mon gout) beaucoup trop de "politesses ", un peu "bourgeois" à mon sens. C'est à dire que lorsque qu'ils viennent en France ils ont un vocabulaire très "cucul" (désolé l'expression ) et de plus, ils ne conprennent pas lorsque on parle (normalement) sans les vouvoiment à gogo etc... mais je suis également pour qu'ils apprenent des politesses biensure , qu'on leur apprennent pas "wesh frère, bien ou bien ?" mais voilà pourquoi je suis mitigé sur ce fait ❤❤❤❤

"Et ben dis donc" sound like something you can say to young people, or somebody you know very well. Is appropriate to use that expression, when talk with person we have just met, or with elderly person?

It's familiar but not at all rude or vulgar and you can say this to young or older people. Someone you just met, if you feel comfortable with this person, you can too :-)

Yeah, I think it's a commonly mispronounced word among native speakers. Maybe there are regions more prone to mispronouncing it, but just to be clear for the non-native speakers: there is no officially recognized alternate pronunciation. In other words, there's only one correct pronunciation of the word "pronunciation." :)

In Ireland and in some parts of the North of England it will be pronounced as "pro-NOUNCE-iation." But you are right, in that, for the majority (and in Received Pronunciation), it will be "proNUNciation." "ProNUNciation" has more cachet generally.

The English word "pronunciation", is pronounced pron-UN-siashen, and not pron-OUN-siashen. There's no extra O. It's quite a common mistake, but it's still a mistake.

I often hear 'suis' pronounced 'shee' as well - especially with people from Paris. Sara Mortensen is pretty bad for that one.
