I have mixed emotions about this particular conference because there is a vagueness and underlying presupposition to it. James 4:17 says, "Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin." What does this conference mean by "good" and "do the right thing?" Do the right thing about what? Is it racism? Is it social justice? Is it a specific sin churches as a whole isn't doing? What exactly is the church or Christians neglecting to do that is good? And what way should it be done according to the conference? And since I see what appears to be a Caucasian man wiping the feet of an African American man with a woke church rag, it would almost seem to be a subtle indication that the "white" church needs to get "woke" to understand and be repentant towards "blacks." This seems to be a running theme of trying to "educate" churches to make them "woke." There are Biblical ways to address racism and social justice; the main way to address racism outside of the church is to preach the gospel to the lost (Romans 1:16). Without a change of a wicked, wretched heart, you can only regulate or legislate actions, not change the heart of the ones doing the actions. In the church, the reality that Christ is our main identity (Galatians 3:28, Colossians 3:11) because that is what unites us. Outside of Biblical solutions (in context of the scriptures), by default those solutions come from other sources. Other solutions fall into the category of leaning on your own understanding and being corrupted by vain deceit/philosophies after the traditions of man, after the principles of the world and not after Christ (which Proverbs 3:5 and Colossians 2:8 warns against). If the messages at this conference float in that direction, then it is a problem.

The white man wiping his shoes is a reference to the film, "Do the Right Thing" by Spike Lee. It is one of my favorite films of all time. Also in the film it was a white man who stepped on his shoe so I think they chose to keep that. Aside from that, I think you raise some valid concerns surrounding how the church is to approach these issues. May be wise to speak with someone if you can who knows about these conferences.
