Maam, you use the Ideal High Pass formula in Ideal Low Pass, according your solution the image is sharped not smooth and the ideal low pass filter is used for smooth/blur the image

J is a complex number, imaginary part. 8 comes after the matrix multiplication. We do matrix multiplication instead of pixel by pixel multiplication.
