Hello @Aeroswap.....Here why u choose direct freq and not modal fre. Resp..........keep going......this is the channel which I follow for cae only
@Aeroswap3 жыл бұрын
Hi Ankit, These are two separate methods to perform a frequency response analysis (direct and modal). Both provide accurate results. However, there is difference in the solving strategy used in both methods. Modal frequency response takes less time to solve in most cases. I will be creating a tutorial about modal frequency response analysis soon. Good to know you follow the content posted here :)

@Aeroswap3 жыл бұрын
Hi Sudarshan, Older versions of Hypermesh work differently. There is no 'Curve' entity in HM 2013. Create a new loadcollector and set its card image to 'TABLED1'. Now in the NUM field, enter desired number of input rows. You can enter the tabular data after that. I hope this information helps!

I didn't get this point as we are applying unit load on the node specified how come that small amount of load is sufficient to excite the model to its natural frequency i.e., the peaks in the graph which are 450Hz and 680Hz
@Aeroswap3 жыл бұрын
Good question! The main function of unit load is to provide a location and direction for the vibrational loading. I said unit load as we are specifying the scale factor for DAREA as 1. By changing this scale factor value, we can adjust the amplitude of vibrations as per our requirements, One thing to be noted is that regardless of the amplitude of vibrations (scale factor), the peak frequency on the graph will remain the same. The maximum deformation value will change but the frequency at which this deformation occurs will remain constant. I hope this information answers your query!

When you create the DAREA constraint, you have to make sure that the scale factor is 1. By default, the value will be 0 and that will cause this error. You can update the value to 1 to resolve this issue.

I started watching this tutorial after watching your introduction videos, hoping that this series would be the next step but unfortunately the jump is too large. Is there another series that bridges this gap? Coming from ANSYS, it is unclear to me why Load Collectors are added instead of boundary conditions being directly applied. Also, what are these cards and how do I learn what each card is used for? In ANSYS I can create named selections and apply meshes/connections/loads/BC to them. Can this be done in HW? It also seems like there is no way to go through the mesh operations and modify them. When a mesh feature is created, that's it. You can't add/deduct a model feature to which it is applied and you can't tweak a setting, you have to reselect and remesh. Is this how it is? Can you please direct me to video tutorials that will prepare me for this current series? Thanks.
@Aeroswap3 жыл бұрын
Hi Allon, Thank you for pointing out the difficulties faced in understanding how the solver deck setup works in Hyperworks. I will make sure to create a detailed tutorial regarding boundary conditions setup and editing. As for mesh, it is possible to edit the mesh features once it is created. In fact, you can also add multiple configurations of the same part with different mesh settings in the same model and select which configuration to use in any particular case. I am yet to cover these advanced topics in my videos. Thanks a lot for your suggestion. I will work on these topics soon! For now, I think the Hyperworks Help documentation will help you a lot in terms of understanding how the analysis is set up and why certain control cards/load types are used in specfic cases.

Nicely performed the direct freq analysis using the specified range of the frequency as an input. How difficult is to do the modal base freq analysis though? Do I need to run a modal analysis first and import it to the model as an input? Or can I run them all at the same time? By the way the new Hyperworks 2021 looks pretty neat. I'm still using 2017 haha.
@Aeroswap3 жыл бұрын
Hey Ken, thanks! No need to run a modal analysis separately. We can set up a modal frequency response simultaneously in the same model. It solves much faster than direct frequency response. I will be creating a follow up to this video to demonstrate the modal based frequency response analysis. Yes, the new interface is great! Much easier to use than legacy HM. I hope your company decided to switch to the new interface soon :)
