Reporter - If your re renting will the tenant pay property tax. Mr ,Manning - No the home owner will have to pay property tax. Will the cost of the rental of the property go up? The owner is not going to absorb that cost. He will pass it on to the tenant.. Its simple common sense

If you increase the rent it also increases your tax because its based on rental value. So its virtually impossible to pass on the cost.

The ppl in this country already get tax for building material . Now when the house is done we are getting tax again. Some is wrong here .

Depending where you live, include land tax...but when someone questions these things people get mad and automatically see you as anti-pnm. Meanwhile people squatting all over Trinidad.

Minister Manning did a great job communicating information on the property tax. I agree with exempting and disputing the tax, hopefully it’s done in an efficient and effective manner. I am not entirely in agreement with the purpose. The biggest problem in Trinidad and Tobago was not mentioned, it’s crime…violent crime! How about we throw most of this $$$ at resolving that? Utilizing all the ways to destroy violent organized crime, and all organized crime?? A population free of fear is prosperous!
