This is my 2nd favorite Sp behind the 303. You have the best filters, the best sound, the best pitch, & the best timestretch. Like you said, you can't adjust the sample volume, and you can't trim the start and end points. Your mark game has to be precise. And don't even think about trying to truncate or delete samples one by one either unless you have an errand to run. It takes FOREVER. . This machine will test your patience, but you gotta play to it's strengths and avoid it's weaknesses.
@spvidz3 жыл бұрын
lol yeah its frustraiting when you cut some chops but the beat doesn't work. makes you feel like you've wasted a lot of time, but like you say its worth being patient with this unit, its a little beast when you play to its strengths!

PRO TIP - 2 birds one stone: buy a 202 and a P0-33. Owning both units fixes the "memory card" problem (for cheaper) and the "build full beats" problem. Next step, make some dawless heat. If you have a little bit more doe: buy a myVolts Ripcord and an external cellphone battery charger. Boom, there you go: you have a most portable, cheap, dawless setup there is. Enjoy.
@AmazonCrime3 жыл бұрын
@@rorz999 It is better pairing indeed. Not as cheap. Not as portable. But better in any other ways for sure. The 404 SX is just the best.
@AmazonCrime3 жыл бұрын
The only problem of the SP 404 SX is the Pitch Func, really. Or the lack of. Also the 202 sounds the best. Everything that goes in it sounds better. I just use the HIFI Stereo with no FX to resample every chop I make and bounce them back in the 404 SX. Do a A/B testing. Everything sounds better.

I know this is kind of not related, but how do you get yourself to publish sampled beats if it can get you into legal trouble? That thought has been holding me off from putting any of my beats that include samples out there especially with distributors on spotify, apple music etc.
@spvidz3 жыл бұрын
chop and repitch to a point where you can't recognise the track. The algorithms wont pick it up. Using loops of songs is more risky so be careful with those. Smaller artists like you and me most likely won't get in trouble because its not worth the time to recoup the low earnings we've made. I think worst case your track will just get taken down. That being said, it is not legal to use copyrighted songs without permission so the risk is entirely yours and I don't condone it!

can i sample songs from a computer thru SP 202 ? And if I can is there other devices I need to do it successfully? (sample from youtube-mp3 downloads on pc)
@spvidz2 жыл бұрын
yes with the right cables. You either need some kind of audio interface that you can send the sound of your computer out, or you could try going out of the headphone jack and get a small jack > phono cable but the signal might not be great

@ivory76993 жыл бұрын
I remember you talking about a hiss problem when recording samples, have you learned to solve that issue? I’m having the same problem with my 202
@spvidz3 жыл бұрын
Basically just record in as loud as possible and reduce the recording volume to get less hiss I find. It could also be down to earthing so try using a wall socket if you are running off an extension cable
@goldend-pad52573 жыл бұрын
Yea same here the whiny noise is actually annoying, i thought it was faulty when i got mine but since learned they are all like this, its electrical nterference i'm guessing, not alot can be done unless somebody knows of a mod.
@spvidz3 жыл бұрын
Yes I’ve noticed that too. Pretty much always in standard or lower here as well!
@AmazonCrime3 жыл бұрын
3 tricks to get rid of the hiss. 1-Rec Lvl must be set @ 11 o'clock. Past that it just gets noisy. 2-Get an overpriced mem card. C/D banks have WAY quieter hiss. That's why they are so fucking expensive. It ain't for the extra mem bullshit. They just sound better. 3-Once your beat is done with, bounce it in a daw and duck those 2 frequencies: 940hz and 829hz. Boom: No hiss. You good to go.
@AkaTengu Жыл бұрын
@@AmazonCrime nice, those are the Nonjuror tips. Don’t forget if you repitch those two frequencies get moved
