I tried building up the tape to mark a quarter of an inch as shown in the video and my quilt top lay perfectly flat when it was done. Fantastic! Thank you for all your other tips, too.

You have literally changed my young quilting life. I didn’t understand the level of precision that’s needed to make tight quilt designs. This is my best quilt yet and it’s thanks to this little video.

Deb, this video is very educational! Thank you. I have just finished watching most of your videos and find you are an excellent teacher, you are clear and break each process down in an understandable way. I want to say thank you for the videos AND for the tools. I only recently found out about you/your tools and wished I have known about this method oh so many weeks ago. My quilt would have surely turned out practically perfect. I have 3 of your rulers now but plan on adding more to my supplies.

I am piecing a block made of HSTs and flying geese. I am loosing points, can you do a video on something like this to help not loose points? If you have a video already can you point me to it? Thanks, I love your tutorials.

What is the name of the block of stars behind you
@ednamiller112 жыл бұрын
It is I again (last question asked). I am thinking about doing a border around my quilt that pattern calls is a "chevron block". Do you have a tool for this? I have Winger Clipper I and II and the Lemoyne Star (which is the main part of my quilt). I saw a chevron block (or zigzag) border on a quilt and really liked. it. I know if you have a tool for this design, it would make it so much easier (and precise). Thanking you in advance - what a blessing you are to all of us quilters out here!!!
@DebTuckersStudio180Design2 жыл бұрын
I think this is what you are talking about. It most cases the chevrons are made from Flying geese where the large triangle is a color and the small triangles are background, then a revers flying goose to make the bottom where the color is the small triangles and the large triangle is the background. Love links is an example of this. deb-tuckers-studio-180-design.myshopify.com/products/love-links?_pos=1&_sid=30090cf07&_ss=r

@@DebTuckersStudio180Design Thank you so much. this is exactly what I need. So glad you decided to devote your time and mathematical mind to quilting instead of becoming a math prof (which I am sure you would also excel ).

I love your design rulers. I am in the process of finishing a quilt using the lemoyne star. I am going to hand quilt this. I want to use a light batting. I heard you mention that you also like light. Can you give me the name of the batting you use.
@DebTuckersStudio180Design2 жыл бұрын
I love to use Quilter's Dream batting. Their 80/20 cotton wool is a great light batting, or they have a great straight cotton batting. Any of their battings work really nicely and gives you a great feel.

Confused. "scant" quarter or "true" quarter for quilting? I hear both and IT DOES make a difference in a quilt. Need once and for all directions. Thanks.
@little19424 жыл бұрын
Patricia Bass Hi Patricia! I know you asked this question of Deb a few months back, but since you haven’t received an answer, I thought I’d through in my two sense. I use an exact 1/4” seam when sewing “straight” lines such as squares or rectangle type blocks/units together. Use a scant 1/4” seam when sewing any seams with an angle, ie triangles, diamonds, or odd shapes. Sewing seams with these guidelines has made a huge difference in the accuracy of my blocks and quilts. I hope this helps you as well.
