Hey Chalkers, I spent most of the day yesterday editing videos for shorts, crocheting a baby blanket for KJ, and watching Grey’s Anatomy( season 1, don’t tell me anything (never seen the show before). It didn’t stop my mind from reflecting on the past, but did remind me of some memories.
My mom was truly my best friend! I know I wasn’t hers though! How do I know, she told me.
Me: what do you mean we aren’t friends
Mom: (sucking teeth) how can we be friends? You think a friend would pay every time they go out! Would they not go to work for three weeks to sit by your bed, when you were hospitalized! Would they listen to all the nonsense you spout! Forgive you ever time, when you out of order! I’m better, to you than any best friend can be! I’m your damn mother, and you can put a best in front!

Parent’s sometimes seem unappreciative, because we see a potential in our kids, that they have yet to realize. Grades used to be so important to me for my son, but the pressure I was putting on him was counter productive for his success. I had to take a step back, and realize I wasn’t helping but hindering. With no manual given to raise our specific kid, it’s a trial and error. I think, Parents are most appreciated when, kids move out and have kids of their own! 💜💙💜
