Yeah moving to the USA as an Asian middle class always means life is downgrading, at least in the first couple of years. America is good for super rich (life is more enjoyable, more freedom) and super poors (easier to make more money than in Asia).

I am living in USA and was from Taiwan, I am not Taiwan rich and definitely not USA rich either. I guess I am kind of poor always live on paycheck after paycheck, don’t let your money Status affect how you feel. Peoples money status can always change but it doesn’t change our hearts❤. Comedy aside, this episode is so reflective of many FOBs: They think they picked a winning path by moving to the west. But they missed something important - when the economy of place grows like crazy, it's a vacuum that sucks you up through social status levels. In the west, you have to fight to squeeze up. Bamboo tops may or may not be there, it's subjective.
@SYDAirlineEnthusiast20 сағат бұрын
If you moved to Australia, you would have less worries. The US is just run by greedy self-centred pricks.

Hard reality about America through observation: 1. Poor/struggling (refugees) people moved to America mostly likely can get a better life than in their original countries. 2. Middle class people in their original countries moved to America probably not able to move up in the social status or may actually be less successful than their peers in their original countries when those countries experiencing exponential economical growth……….

That’s for a local living on a Taiwanese salary. If you live in a us salary, it might be easier.
Louis won’t have to feel bad. 3 seasons later, gene goes back to being depressed as Margaret left him. I don’t think his marriage even lasted for a year. Gene also almost got attacked by a tiger. However, isn’t gene a pilot for delta air lines, so wouldn’t he be a us citizen then?

As an Indian south Asian ,let me make one thing ABSOLUTELY clear here .Asian american panels CONSISTENTLY ignore, exclude South Asians from panels despite the fact that the VPOTUS 's mother, Shyamala Gopalan, was a Tamil Indian biologist, whose work on the progesterone receptor gene stimulated advances in breast cancer research Asia is a VERY DIVERSE continent .

Put your head back in your ass. It’s not like Indian ever identify themselves as Asian before Indian anyway! Meanwhile most east and southeast Asian American would identify themselves as Asian American.
