Original Andrew Probert design for the Ent-C, which also shows up as a golden sculpture in the Ent-D conference room. To me, THIS will always be the actual Ent-C, not the one they used on the show and added to the game before. Thanks for making this video Zef!

I think it was the trek yards channel that had the guy who designed this and it was supposed to be the original Ambassador Class ship.I remember he said he wanted to keep the black grill on the neck as the Excelsior Class ship had it before as a way to tie them together.

Andrew Probert's concept Ent-C is way more graceful than the onscreen Ambassador class. It's a refreshing design. Woulda loved to see it on screen.

I've got my Tier 6 Federation Support Cruiser. Named it U.S.S. Ambassador NX-10521 after the prototype of the Ambassador-class Starship because I believe that this is how the Ambassador looked and the design was changed to how the Enterprise-C looked for the production version of the class.

Actually, I think it would be the reverse. The initial Ambassador class looking like the final Enterprise-C, while the Narenda class is the result of the refit the Enterprise never got to enjoy (nevermind the Yamaguchi at Wolf-359)

The Narendra class was a "must have" for my AoY captain. She's gorgeous in my mind, a combination of parts from the Lettered Enterprises (A-D) and her specs aren't half bad for the way I play. She's the USS Caleb (after the Battle of Caleb IV) a ship and a class named for last stands to be remembered.

Normally when you use the word 'generic' when describing the appearance of something it has a negative connotation. This time however, when I say the Narendra looks like a generic Starfleet vessel, I think that really works in its favor. You look at this ship and it just screams this is what Starfleet is, I would foresee these ships and the Resolute/Reliant classes becoming the back bone of the Federation Home fleet while all the fancy hi tech designs get sent out to the outer reaches. And the Vor'ral is no slouch in the looks dept either. Thanks for the vid!

This is one of Probert´s later design studies for the Galaxy. It was so good, they later reused it as a base for the Ambassador, whose design got simplified because of production time and cost restrictions during TNG. But, this really is the original Ambassador, and a more than worthy alternative design to the successful Galaxy.

Can’t wait for these to come to consoles. I’ve been looking to upgrade to a T6 ship on my AoY character. I’ve been thinking of going for a Movie Era or Lost Era ship. The T6 Excelsior sucks, so I was thinking of going for the T6 Miranda. But seeing this new Ambassador, I’m really tempted to buy it. I might even use it on my main Fed. I mainly use my Galaxy (full set), Akira (full set), Defiant (missing Quad cannons).

I'm really curious to see what these models would look like with real time Ray Tracing (in cinematic terms) - would it make a lot of difference or not compared to prebaked lighting - I suspect the effect would make even the fairly basic models look way better if it was implemented in the game some time.

The Narenda is basically the prototype for the Enterprise D while the ship was still being conceptualized during pre-production of the show. I can easily see where another ship, the Enterprise C, took some cues from as well. Speaking of ships, did I miss something? For some reason, I thought you made a video on the Recon Destroyer Bundle. Oh well, great video as usual!

It really was supposed to be the Ambassador class, but the model makers didn't have time to make it. You can see it on the wall of the ward room in earlier seasons of TNG, and the matte painting has been doing the rounds online for years. Andrew Probert finished the design a few years back.

that Vor'ral looks excellent but that Material 7 continues to make Federation ships look like they're trying too hard to be stylish but end up looking cheap. Material 6 in None or Andromeda pattern in white/black strike the proper aesthetic. thankfully, the Narendra looks elegant, despite Cryptic's misguided choice for a default 25th century material.

I liked the version of the Ambassador class that Rick Sternbach made for _Yesterday's Enterprise_ a lot better than the sketches made for it by Andrew Probert. Probert's version wasn't really finalized anyway. There, I said it and I don't care what the haters think.
